This Morning has been on our screens since 1988 – but who presents it, and which presenters have graced its sofa over the years?
Now in its 34th year on TV, This Morning has made household names out of its many presenters.
The hit daytime show airs weekdays from 10am till 12.30pm and explores leading new stories, debates and hot topics – with a smattering of showbiz thrown in for good measure.
Handing over to the Loose Women at 12.30pm, the show is typically watched by a million Brits every day.
But who presents This Morning? Read on and we’ll tell you all there is to know!
Who presents This Morning? Holly Willoughby
This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby joined the show in September 2009, taking over from Fern Britton.
She’d already been working with Schofe on Dancing On Ice since 2006, with the pair quickly becoming the most popular duo daytime TV.
Holly, who presents This Morning alongside Phil on Monday to Thursday, takes Fridays off.
However, Holly’s appointment to the show almost didn’t happen over bosses’ fears she “wouldn’t be able to interview the Prime Minister”.
Her soon-to-be TV husband stepped to persuade ITV otherwise.
Holly revealed on a podcast recently: “If it wasn’t for Phil, I wouldn’t be on This Morning now because everyone around him at the time when he suggested my name, were like: ‘What? No! She might be alright in the fashion bit but there’s no way she could interview the Prime Minister.’
“And I remember when I got the job and I totally only have him to thank for that and his belief.
“In literally week one, I had to interview the Prime Minister and I remember thinking in my head, oh my god, I can’t do this, they know I can’t do this,” she said.
Phillip Schofield is celebrating 20 years on the ITV daytime show this year, having joined as a full-time presenter 2002.
However, his first appearance as a presenter on the show actually took place back in 1998 alongside Caron Keating.
Phil returned four years later as the show’s permanent host alongside Fern Britton.
She left in 2009, with Holly joining in the autumn of the same year – and, if ITV didn’t sign Holly up, Phil has admitted he was ready to quit the show.
He has said: “We had such fun on Dancing on Ice that when the position became vacant on This Morning I said: ‘Holly is the only person I want. If I can’t have her I am not playing.'”
Former Big Brother presenter Alison Hammond has been part of the This Morning family since 2003.
She joined the show as a showbiz reporter, interviewing the likes of Mariah Carey, Michael Bublé and The Rock.
In 2020, ITV announced that the show would undergo a presenting shake up, with Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes dropped from their regular Friday hosting slot.
Alison and Dermot O’Leary were announced as the new hosts and started in January 2021.
However, Alison has revealed since that she almost turned down the job because she wasn’t sure she could commit to every Friday.
“I was like: ‘No, I’m not doing that. It’s massive. I’d done Fridays before with Rylan [Clark], but this was committing to every week. I kept thinking, what if I don’t want to do that Friday?” she told The Sun.
Alison added: “The whole time at This Morning I could say yes or no and I could get out of it, but now it’s ‘Fridays are your day’. It was daunting.”
The TV presenter also said: “I never dreamt that when I first joined This Morning – initially for a few months – that I would still be there 19 years later.
“I genuinely care about the show and the viewers who watch, so it’s a huge privilege and honour to be hosting a show I adore so much.
“I’m just really excited to be doing even more of what I love alongside the lovely Dermot.”
Dermot O’Leary first stepped in to host This Morning alongside Holly in January 2014, after Phil took a week off.
And, six years later he was back as the permanent host of Fridays on This Morning.
Replacing Eamonn and Ruth wasn’t something that came easily to Dermot, with the star admitting he was “caught between a rock and a hard place”.
However, signing up to the show, Dermot admitted that he was “thrilled and honoured” to be joining the team.
At the time, he said: “We have huge shoes to fill and we are well aware what a privilege it is to be stepping into them.
“Above all, we want to have fun and for you to be able to kick your weekend off with a smile, especially given the year we’ve all had.
“So I’m delighted to be co-hosting with the living embodiment of sunshine on a rainy day. I can’t wait to get started.”
Big Brother star Josie Gibson is the latest addition to the This Morning hosting line-up.
She was drafted in at the last minute after Holly fell ill, covering alongside Phil for a few days.
Josie has since been back hosting the show alongside Dermot – and it’s fair to say she has gone down a storm with viewers.
In fact, many have called for Josie to be moved off the competition segments of the show and given a much bigger role in the show.
However, she recently told ED! in an exclusive interview that it’s actually not something she wants at the moment.
Josie said: “The thing is, I love where I am in life at the moment, and I love my career. Everything is so perfect, so I don’t feel like I want any more.
“I’m always doing stuff. I get the best of both worlds – sometimes I’m in the studio and sometimes I’m out and about and meeting people.
“I’ve got the best of everything.”
In August 2013, This Morning welcomed Rochelle and Marvin Humes to the family as regular stand-in presenters.
They no longer appear on screen together, but Rochelle has been a familiar face on the show since 2018.
She’s made regular appearances recently, including hosting alongside Phillip for two weeks while Holly took time out from the show.
Rochelle has also presented the show with Andi Peters and Vernon Kay, and she’s also fronted her own cooking segment on the show, too.
The lovely Ruth Langsford joined the show as a guest presenter in 1999 and she quickly transitioned into hosting the show alongside husband Eamonn Holmes on Fridays and over school half-terms.
However, it all came crashing down at the end of 2020 when it was announced This Morning would be undergoing a presenting shake up.
Eamonn and Ruth were axed as regular hosts of the Friday show, although both did stay on as stand-in presenters on the show.
However, Eamonn recently announced that he was quitting This Morning to join GB News.
So where does that leave Ruth?
She is, of course, a regular on Loose Women, and she has stayed on as a presenter on This Morning.
Ruth recently told Best magazine: “I’m still at ITV, with This Morning and Loose Women.”
Speaking about Eamonn’s new role, she added: “He’s a total news junkie. I’m very proud of him. Yes, no more This Morning together – but it doesn’t mean there aren’t other projects we can do together.”
Who presents This Morning? Vernon Kay
I’m A Celebrity favourite Vernon Kay was signed up to present the show for a week in August, covering for hosts Holly and Phil.
However, just days before he was due to present with Rochelle and Alison, he tested positive for COVID-19 and had to pull out of the job.
As a result, he made his This Morning debut some four months later.
Vernon fronted the show for four days in December 2021 – and he went down a storm with viewers.
In fact, some even called for Holly and Phil to “step aside” and let Vernon present the show full-time.
One fan said on social media: “This has been the best week on the show, time for Phillip and Holly to step aside. Well done you guys.”
Who presents This Morning? Andi Peters
The former kids presenter graduated from the competitions slot to host of the show in September 2021.
He presented alongside Rochelle, with the TV veteran impressing viewers over the two-and-a-half-hour show.
This Morning fans called for him to be taken on as a permanent presenter, with one fan calling his presenting debut “brilliant”.
Another pleaded with ITV bosses: “Andi Peters has been fantastic. Give him the job full-time.”
Familiar This Morning faces from yesteryear
Lots of presenters have helped shape the show over the years.
They left in 2001.
Caron Keating and Ross King hosted Fridays from 1998, with Fern Britton and John Leslie taking over that day the following year.
Coleen Nolan and Twiggy replaced Richard and Judy when they left, with Fern and John continuing to host Fridays.
John Leslie’s contract was terminated in the wake of Matthew Wright’s claims that he was allegedly the unnamed man who raped Ulrika Jonsson and he was replaced by Phillip Schofield.
John returned to the show as a guest in 2018 to discuss the sexual assault trial that had “ruined his life”.
Fern and Phil then hosted the show from October 2002 till her departure in 2009, when Holly joined the show.
This Morning chefs: James Martin
James Martin is one of the show’s most popular chefs , often showcasing his love of butter to the day’s hosts.
The chef has been on telly for 25 years, rising to fame on The Big Breakfast and Ready, Steady, Cook, before landing the presenting role on the BBC One show Saturday Kitchen in 2006.
He hosted the show for 10 years before making the flit to ITV.
James made his first appearance on This Morning in July 2016 – and recently showed off a little more than he bargained for when he ripped his trousers live on air!
This Morning chefs: Gino D’Acampo
There’s never a dull moment when Italian chef Gino D’Acampo is on the show.
And the flamboyant chef doesn’t always stick to cooking – recently he took charge of the phone-in, helping viewers with their problems!
His first This Morning appearance came all the way back in April 2006 and, since then, his career has gone from strength to strength.
He has his own TV travel show with his family – and Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix – a zillion cookbooks, restaurants and he’s the current host of Family Fortunes.
Just don’t mention Paul Young and THAT burglary that saw Gino doing time at Her Majesty’s pleasure.
This Morning chefs: John Torode
John Torode has been part of the This Morning family as one of the chefs who presents the cookery segment since 1999.
He’s married to Lisa Faulkner and, away from This Morning, the pair have their own cookery show, Weekend Kitchen.
John is also famous for MasterChef with sidekick Gregg Wallace, and has faced the wrath of former This Morning host Eamonn Holmes, who branded the chef a “dirty pig”.
This Morning chefs: Clodagh McKenna
There’s surely no chef that brightens your day more than the gorgeous Clodagh McKenna.
She’s a ray of sunshine, laughing, singing and dancing her way through her recipes – other than the time she cried on air because she was missing her mum.
Clodagh only joined the show in 2019, but she’s already a much-loved member of the This Morning family.
Cast, crew and viewers alike were quick to send the star their congratulations when she tied the knot with her posh beau Harry Herbert in an idyllic ceremony last year.
This Morning chefs: Nisha Katona
Nisha Katona – who joined the team in November 2019 – is the founder of Mowgli Street Food restaurants.
She is also a food writer and has several books out, including The Spice Tree: Indian Cooking Made Beautifully Simple.
Nisha has also appeared on a number of TV shows. Her telly CV includes appearances on Sunday Brunch, Saturday Morning with James Martin, The One Show and The Secret Chef.
And, if you’re anything like us, the first thing you’ll have noticed about her is her surname.
So is she related to famous mum-of-five Kerry Katona? We’ve got all you need to know here!
This Morning chefs: Juliet Sear
When Juliet Sear is on the show the hosts are in for a real treat.
She specialises in cakes, biscuits and desserts, and often leaves cast, crew and viewers at home drooling (although not literally) over her mouthwatering creations.
Juliet discovered her passion for baking when she started making birthday cakes for her kids.
From there she ended up making cakes for David Beckham and Prince Harry – and even got caught up in a stampede of Paul Hollywood’s enamoured fans!
She joined This Morning in May 2017 – the year she swapped her own bakery, Fancy Nancy, for a life in front of the cameras.
This Morning chefs: Joseph Denison Carey
The newest and most hunky member of the This Morning cooking team has to be Joseph Denison Carey.
He made a few appearances on the show in 2020, making his debut in the June, and it soon transpired that he’s linked to This Morning host Holly Willoughby.
The host has said that it’s “weird” to watch him cook on the show, given their history together.
However, the man himself has said: “I am happy to be here! I am happy to be here on the telly with you.”
This Morning chefs: Phil Vickery
The chef worked side-by-side with then wife Fern Britton as she hosted the show and he took charge of the kitchen.
Fern and Phil sadly split at the start of 2020, after 20 years of marriage, with the presenter posting a series of cryptic tweets that appeared to reference the break up.
Phil, though, has stuck to what he does best – cooking up a storm in the kitchen!
Resident expert Alice Beer
Alice Beer has been part of the This Morning family since her very first appearance in 2003.
However, she didn’t become a more regular face on the show till a decade later.
Since 2013, she’s racked up more than 150 appearances on the show.
In fact, fans of the show have commented that there isn’t anything Alice – who trained as a teacher – isn’t an expert in!
Agony aunt Deirdre Sanders
Deidre Sanders first appeared on This Morning back in 2005, however, she’s first listed as the show’s agony aunt in 2017 – a job she’s held at a national newspaper since the 1980s.
Since then she’s chalked up almost 100 appearances, including some recently which have been a little controversial.
Back in 2019 she courted controversy when a clip was aired that showed her “shoving” a crew member out of shot.
She’s also come under fire from viewers for her sometimes questionable (in the eyes of the viewers) advice to callers.
This Morning money man Martin Lewis
He’s the Money Saving Expert who’s always on hand to offer the nation advice on their finances.
Martin Lewis – host of The Martin Lewis Money Show – has been part of the This Morning family since 2014, appearing in more than 100 episodes.
His advice has saved viewers millions over the years.
However, there have been times (well, one) when he hasn’t exactly seen eye to eye with the presenters of the show…
Soap queen Sharon Marshall
Sharon Marshall went from talking about soaps to actually writing them!
She’s been with This Morning since 2003 and has written episodes of EastEnders and Emmerdale.
Sharon has appeared on almost 300 episodes of This Morning and the woman is a bonafide soap expert, starting out as TV editor on a national newspaper before moving in front of the camera.
Model-turned-presenter Lisa Snowdon is a familiar face on the show.
She’s often seen in far-flung destinations fronting the show’s competitions but is more familiar as one of the show’s resident fashion experts.
However, the star – who joined the show in 2016 – isn’t always popular with viewers at home, with some sending in complaints on her more controversial fashion segments.
Gok, who joined the show in 2012, admitted that the show “saved him” from his “biggest fear” during the first lockdown.
And he also touched viewers’ hearts when he shaved his head live on air to support his young niece who was battling cancer.
Far from being a one-trick pony, Gok is also a dab hand in the kitchen and often presents the show’s cookery segments.
Interior designer Kelly Hoppen – famed for her mass of gorgeous red curls – joined This Morning in 2017.
She can into her own during the first lockdown, presenting home makeover segments via Zoom, showing viewers how to convert their homes into ore useable spaces.
Beauty expert Bryony Blake
The gorgeous Bryony Blake – who joined the show in 2014 – is one of the show’s resident beauty experts.
The celebrity make-up artist is often seen giving make-up tutorials on the show.
She’s also worked on The Masked Dancer, Celebrity Juice, In For A Penny and Britain’s Got Talent.
She may have only joined the show in 2020, but Ateh Jewel has gone down a storm – both with viewers at home and Friday host Alison Hammond.
Regular viewers will know that Ateh and Alison get on like a house on fire, with the host often pilfering products that Ateh shows off on screen.
Away from the world of beauty, Ateh is a documentary producer.
This Morning beauty expert Caroline Hirons
Caroline Hirons joined the This Morning team as one of the lovely ladies who presents the beauty segments in 2020.
She’s written a book and she founded the Beauty Backed Trust – an organisation that supports those working in the industry affected by the pandemic.

Back in 2019 he also revealed that he suffered with depression, revealing that things had got “quite bad” a couple of times.
This Morning GP Dr Sara Kayat
Dr Sara Kayat is an NHS GP who’s turned her hand to TV.
She joined the This Morning team in 2017 and has also appeared on Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls and on Channel 5’s GPs Behind Closed Doors.

This Morning GP: Dr Zoe Williams
Dr Zoe Williams is one of the GPs who presents the This Morning health segments.
She joined the show in 2016 and has also appeared on The One Show, Trust Me I’m A Doctor and Gladiators – yes, really!

Dr Ranj Singh
The gorgeous Dr Ranj Singh is another of the show’s medics who presents the This Morning health segments.
He joined the show in 2016 and, before finding fame, he worked in several hospitals as a specialist in paediatric emergency medicine.
Dr Ranj has appeared as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing and he’s appeared on shows including Morning Live, Steph’s Packed Lunch and Loose Women.
At the height of the pandemic, though, he stepped back from his media work and went back to work for the NHS.
Dr Scott Miller
Hunky Dr Scott Miller is the show’s resident vet.
He made a couple of appearances on the show in 2005 and 2006, but has appeared in a more regular capacity since 2019.
Dr Scott choked up live on air when he revealed that his beloved dog had died.
And he also came under fire from viewers over a segment about Halloween dressing up that some called “stressful” for the animals.
The lovely Vanessa Feltz has been with the show since 2017.

And host Phil has had to step in when one of her arguments went a little too far.
Famous for his show The Wright Stuff, Matthew Wright joined This Morning in a regular capacity in 2020.
Nik and Eva Speakman
The Speakmans are a husband-and-wife team who help viewers deal with their fears and phobias.
They first appeared on the show in 2011 and have helped countless viewers.
Eva once even burst into tears after helping a woman with cancer overcome her fear of needles.
The couple are parents to two teenage children and recently shared a rare family portrait.
Talking head Camilla Tominey is a journalist and broadcaster.
Her areas of expertise are royals and politics, so she’s often on the show talking about everything from the Prime Minister to Meghan and Harry.
Often a divisive character, Camilla was once hit by death threats over her comments about the Duchess of Sussex.
This Morning talking head Nicola Thorp
She’s clashed with Andrew Neill on the show and even faced the wrath of Piers Morgan.
He hit back after she branded hi a “hypocrite” during a debate on trolling.
The loveable Gyles Brandreth is more than just a one-trick pony.
He’s known for his love of jazzy jumpers and even fronted a Christmas jumper segment last year.
Gyles is also a friend of the royals, so is often called upon when they’re in the news.
He’s also mocked Eamonn Holmes, calling wife Ruth Langsford his “carer”.
And sparked fears he was being “held hostage” during a recent Zoom appearance on the show.
Talking head Beverley Turner became part of the This Morning family in 2020.
And, since then, there’s not much she hasn’t debated.
Beverley was also reportedly “banned from the show” after clashing with host Dermot O’Leary.
She might be one of the youngest members of the team, but Georgia “Toff” Toffolo is most certainly a welcome addiction.
Toff is often called upon for her reaction to the day’s news stories, offering her insignificant in the political headlines.
She rose to fame on Made In Chelsea, but joined This Morning in 2017 when she was fresh out of the I’m A Celebrity jungle.
This Morning is on ITV every weekday at 10am.
