And John and dance partner Johannes Radebe (9/1) are reckoned to be third most likely to emerge victorious.

And despite his recent impressive showings, Rhys Stephenson and his partner Nancy Xu are considered rank outsiders.

‘No chance for Rhys’

Rhys and Nancy have very lengthy odds of 80/1 to beat out the other competitors.

To be in the semi-final and rated so lowly must be a blow for Rhys’ confidence.

Rose Ayling-Ellis remains the strong 1/5 favourite.

However, will he even make it to the final?

Not according to Craig Revel Horwood, who is backing the other three couples to make it to the final stage.

They said: “Rose Ayling-Ellis remains the strong 1/5 favourite to waltz her way to the Strictly crown this year as we reach the semi-final stage.

“She has been odds-on for the Glitterball trophy for weeks now.

“AJ Odudu and John Whaite are a way behind Rose at 7/1 and 9/1 respectively after both struggled with lifts on the dance floor.”

In addition, they said: “And despite wowing the judges at the weekend with his Argentine Tango, Rhys Stephenson is a long way off at 80/1.”

Strictly Come Dancing next airs on Saturday December 11 on BBC One at 7.05pm.
