His on-screen relationship with new girlfriend Gemma Winter might be more temperamental than a pregnant cat, but we’re relieved to say that Sam Aston is safely loved up in real life.
The actor, who plays Chesney Battersby-Brown in Coronation Street, has been with yoga teacher Briony Gardiner for more than seven years and they are planning to wed in May.

In a recent interview, the 25-year-old soap star revealed that his wedding to fianceé Briony will take place next month.
In an interview with TV Times magazine, he said: “I don’t have much planned for the Easter weekend. I won’t be doing anything too adventurous. I’m trying to save money and be good at the minute, because I’m getting married in May.”
He went on to say: “Everything’s happening at once, and I’m trying to eat well and stay off the beer. I want to look good for the photos!”

He also joked that he wouldn’t be buying Briony a big Easter egg, as she “needs to fit into her wedding dress!”
Sam announced he’d proposed to his “beautiful bride to be” in June 2017, by sharing a photo of his proposal with his 81,600 Instagram followers.
Sam and Briony have been together since they were teenagers and he popped the question at the annual charity golf event that he hosts with Corrie co-stars Alan Halsall and Andrew Whyment, held at Manchester’s swanky Worsley Park Marriott Hotel and Country Club.
The couple have been together since 2009, after meeting at a drama workshop in Bury.
Sam has already enjoyed a stag weekend in Edinburgh, in which his co-stars dressed him up in a ginger wig and a short kilt.
Sam invited Alan Halsall, Andy Whyment and Colson Smith along on the weekend away in March.

His ITV soap co-stars are also expected to have a starring role on his big day, too.
On-screen, Chesney is set to become a dad as Gemma will soon announce she is pregnant with suspected quadruplets!
