Shona Ramsey is sticking around on Coronation Street after actress Julia Goulding revealed she’s signed a new contract to be there for another year.
Julia is currently expecting her first child with husband Ben Silver, and made the announcement on Twitter that she would be taking a “baby break” but then would return.
“I’m so thrilled to say I’ve just signed to stay on the cobbles of @itvcorrie for another year! I’ll be having a baby break when the time comes but Shona will be back!” she informed fans on the social media site.

It’s good news for fans of Shona, who is currently engaged to David Platt.
David is facing prison after joining forces with brother Nick Tilsley to steal £80K from grandmother Audrey Roberts.
Nick and David will appear in court this week, but David is so convinced things will go his way after he double-crossed his brother and made things right with Audrey, that he’s booked his wedding to Shona for August.
Will the couple make it up the aisle though? Or will David be imprisoned for his big day?
Fans think David is headed to jail after a picture showed the Platts, including Shona, having a celebration without him – but was this a red herring?
Thankfully, things are slightly less dramatic for Julia in real life.
Her baby is thought to be due in December and she recently showed off her blossoming baby bump as she enjoyed the sunshine.
The actress shared a snap to social media on Saturday (June 29) as she cradled her bump in a summery dress.
In the photo, Julia is seen standing on a tree trunk as she proudly displayed her blossoming tummy.

She captioned the post: “Not sure why I stood on a tree stump but there you go… bump in the sun!”
Fans gushed over the sweet picture.
One person said: “Great photo ❣️ with your baby bump,” while another wrote: “Bump on a stump! So cute.”
A third added: “Omg look at bump!”
Last month, the actress announced she was expecting a baby after she and Ben married in a secret ceremony in February.
Announcing the happy news, Julia shared a snap of herself and Ben to Instagram alongside a sweet caption.
She wrote: “Ben and I are delighted to announce that we are expecting our first baby at the end of this year!
“We are absolutely overjoyed and can’t wait to meet our little one!”
It comes months after Julia and Ben tied the knot in a secret ceremony.
In January, it had been reported that the couple were engaged after Ben apparently got down on one knee and popped the question last year.
The actress and Ben tied the knot surrounded by family, friends and her soap co-stars in Manchester’s Albert Hall.
Speaking exclusively to OK! Magazine, Julia said she always wanted to get married on stage, so the Albert Hall was the perfect venue.
She said: “I love being on stage and I always wanted to get married on one!”
Julia revealed they didn’t keep with tradition of the bride being walked down the aisle by her father as the couple walked down together hand-in-hand.
Julia said: “It was important for us to walk down the aisle together and my parents aren’t traditional.
“My dad didn’t mind not giving me away as he believes I’m my own person.”
