Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway fans all make same complaint about wedding ceremony

Vicky and Nick tied the knot

Ant and Dec helped one couple tie the knot on the first episode of the new series of Saturday Night Takeaway last night (February 19).

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly surprised pregnant bride-to-be Vicky by giving her the wedding of her dreams.

There was one catch, though.

It was going to take place at the end of the show!

The boys told Vicky that her partner Nick had been in on the surprise.

They then revealed they’d bought her original wedding dress, the white Rolls-Royce she wanted for the ceremony and had flown her friends and family in from all over the world.

To say she looked a little overwhelmed as she climbed into the helicopter that took her to the wedding venue would be a bit of an understatement!

True to their word, the boys did give Vicky her wedding day, after it had previously been postponed due to the pandemic.

Before the boys performed in drag in the End of the Show Show, viewers watched as Vicky and Nick said their vows.

And, although fans of the show did think it was a lovely idea, they did seem to share the same complaint about the ceremony.

How did fans react to the on-air wedding?

Some said they had tears in their eyes as the couple said their vows.

However, others comments that the ceremony appeared to be a little rushed.

One commented: “I really wouldn’t be happy if that was my wedding tbh. Who wants their wedding day to be over with in an hour & at night.

“I definitely wouldn’t want it televised. Maybe I’m just too much of a control freak.”

Another agreed.

They said: “Poor girl, well bang goes her ‘dream’ wedding! It’s all a nice idea, but I hope she doesn’t look back broken hearted on the experience!”

A third added: “I thought she looked miserable to be honest.”

Another said: “How romantic, a 50 second wedding.”

I wouldn’t be happy with a quick wedding like this,” said another.

However, others loved it – and were left reaching for their hankies.

“Sobbing at this wedding 2 seconds into it. How beautiful does she look!” said one fan.

“What a beautiful wedding,” said another.
