The 31-year-old star confirmed earlier this week she is leaving the ITV soap, and she is said to be “determined” to make her and the pop star’s upcoming marriage work.
A TV insider told The Sun Online: “Kate has loved every minute on Corrie but she is completely committed to Gareth and making their marriage work.
“She nearly lost him once when they split up so she’s determined to make it work this time but it’s really hard with her filming schedule and their academy.”
The source added: “Gareth travels a lot for work so she wants to be able to go with him and see more of the world.
“They’re also looking to the future and starting a family, which would be tricky when she’s still on the show.”
Faye – who also runs performing arts school Fates Academy with Gareth – took to Twitter this week to confirm she is leaving the cobbles, admitting her character “needs a break for a little while”.
Thanks to everyone for your amazing support, but after 4 fabulous years in Weatherfield it's time for me to explore new opportunities, I've loved playing Kate Connor, but she needs a break for a little while and so with a song in my heart I'm off to pastures new. #kana #corrie♥️

Faye’s decision comes just two months after her on-screen fiancée Rana Habeeb, played by Bhavna Limbachia, was killed off in a tragic factory roof collapse storyline on her and Kate’s wedding day.
