She thanked her nurse for getting her "back on track"

Tina Malone has revealed she managed to lose a staggering amount of weight in just one week.

The Scouse actress, 56, said on Twitter she lost a whopping 13lbs and thanked her nurse for helping her get “back on track”.

Responding to a Tweet from weight loss and cosmetic surgery company The Hospital Group about gastric bands, Tina wrote: “Nikki, my nurse, you weighed me today and I’ve lost 13lbs in a week. Thanks for [getting] me back on track xx.”

Last month, the Shameless star faced contempt of court proceedings after sharing images of one of James Bulger’s killers, Jon Venables, and admitting she knew he had lifetime anonymity.

Tina was handed an eight-month suspended jail sentence and ordered to pay a £10k fine.

She later appeared on This Morning, where she grew tearful and explained to hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that the hefty fine meant she was no longer able to take daughter Flame, five, to Disneyland Paris.

She told them: “Over the last 12 months my husband lost his job, I hadn’t worked and so we were going through a really difficult time, and it was my daughter’s fifth birthday in December, and I’d promised we’d take her to Euro Disney this June.

“It was the third year running we couldn’t have a birthday party for her, even on her fifth birthday, and so I’d just got this new job in January, a new drama, great scripts.”

Tina said she received the High Court summons for the contempt of court proceedings and worried she’d lose the new job.

Admitting she was “so sorry”, Tina said she is a “technophobe” and has never “owned a computer”, which meant she didn’t realise her actions were illegal.

She had shared a Facebook post in February last year that featured a photograph purporting to show Venables and his current name.

Fans later set up a JustGiving page for her, hoping to help her out with the five-figure fine. But Tina took to Twitter to ask them not to give her any money, but to instead donate to the James Bulger Memorial Trust.
