“Thrilled” Rylan Clark-Neal to present new prime-time BBC fashion show You Are What You Wear

He "can't wait" to help people boost their confidence

Telly favourite Rylan Clark-Neal is “thrilled” to have landed a new job at the helm of an upcoming fashion programme.

The TV presenter and former X Factor star, 30, will host You Are What You Wear when it launches on BBC One.

The show will reportedly be set in a “department store of dreams” that caters for a raft of styles and sizes.

Created by Multistory Media, each episode will follow four people with their own fashion dilemmas.

Participants will stand in a fitting room with a big mirror and open up about their insecurities to Rylan, according to the BBC, before a squad of personal shoppers use high street, designer and vintage clothing to create the ideal style for them.

When their makeovers are complete, each customer will return to the mirror room with Rylan, where they will see their new look for the first time and reflect on what they see.

Rylan said of the show: “I’m thrilled to be fronting a new series and can’t wait to help people from all walks of life find their sense of style and be proud of what they see when they look in the mirror.”

Executive producer Ana de Moraes, from Multistory Media, called Essex-born Rylan “such a joy at the heart of proceedings”.

She added: “We are incredibly excited with the opportunity to bring a new fashion makeover to BBC One.

“This series has a unique mix of humour, emotion and consumer take out.”

Rylan currently features among the star-studded line-up on Celebrity Gogglebox, where he comments on telly bits with his mum, Linda.

She’s been a big hit with viewers, who have loved her banter with her son – about shopping deliveries, hay fever and other random topics – even more than her verdicts on the week’s telly.

You Are What You Wear isn’t the only new job Rylan’s landed in recent months.

The Celebrity Big Brother winner also had a very important role in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, co-commentating on the semi-finals with Radio 1’s Scott Mills and delivering the UK votes during the live final on Saturday, May 18.

He said, when announcing the news: “I’ve waited my whole life to do this, and I can’t believe it’s finally happening.”
