Singer Michelle Heaton has shared on Instagram what looks like a very painful reaction to a lip-plumping pen.
The former Liberty X star, 40, posted a pic of big red marks on her cheeks for followers on Saturday (22.09.19) and explained how it had happened in the caption.
She wrote: "One must remember not to rub 'lip plumping serum wand' on one's cheeks again #epicfail."
Posing with a sad expression, her Dancing On Ice pro skater pal Alex Murphy seemed to see the funny side of the post, and responded with a series of crying laughing face emojis.
And many of her followers also saw the funny side, while also expressing their sympathy.
One follower wrote: "Oh no! Hope it goes down!."
Oh no!!! Hope it goes down!!
Another praised her for being 'real', writing: "Sorry, couldn't help [laughing]. But I love that you're so real, something I'd do x."
And a third wrote: "Literally dying, lol, take an antihistamine x."
All joking aside, Michelle has had several serious health troubles in recent years.
The married mum of two discovered that she had the BRCA2 gene in 2012, which gave her an 80% chance of developing breast cancer and 30% chance of developing ovarian cancer.
That same year, she underwent a double mastectomy and had breast reconstructive surgery. In 2015, she had a hysterectomy and oophorectomy.
She wrote about her health challenges in her 2018 book Hot Flush, as reported by Irish Examiner: "For so many years, I’ve felt under attack, both physically and emotionally. I've battled to reduce my risk of breast cancer, and fought to reduce my risk of ovarian cancer. The emotional, physical and mental toll has been nothing short of cataclysmic for me, my husband and our two children.
