Fans call for James Jordan to replace Darcey Bussell on Strictly Come Dancing

Some are keen to see the dancer return to the show

James Jordan could replace Strictly Come Dancing  judge Darcey Bussell, if his fans have anything to do with it!

The former Strictly dancer’s following voiced that they think he would make a great replacement for ballerina Darcey, who announced she was leaving the show earlier this month.

James was met with an influx of tweets from fans demanding he become the new judge, after he tweeted about the show today.

The 41-year-old had tweeted to congratulate Rylan Clark-Neal for his new co-hosting spot alongside Zoe Ball on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two.

“Congratulations @Rylan on becoming part of the Strictly family and hosting alongside my mate @ZoeTheBall on ITT…..2 of my favourites on one show, ” he wrote.

However, James’ fanbase were more interested in championing him for the new judging role!

“Now all we need is you as the new judge replacing Darcey!” tweeted one of his followers.

A second added: “I’m waiting on the announcement that you Mr James Jordon are the new judge #make it happen @bbcstrictly.”

“Now we just need you to replace Darcey,” agreed a third.

Others argued that James’ straight talking nature is needed on the BBC1 show.

Other stars rumoured to be in the running for the sought after role are veteran Strictly dancer Anton Du Beke, ballet dancer Carlos Acosta and Pussy Cat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

“James to replace Darcy, love Anton but @The_JamesJordan this is made for you!! We need your brutal honesty,” insisted one fan.

And another added: “Can you be new judge please? Your critique on here is always 💯% x.”

James, who is married to dancer Ola Jordan, joined Strictly in 2006 but left in 2013. It was rumoured he clashed with judge Craig Revel-Horwood.

A spokesperson for Strictly said at the time that James was offered a “reduced role” on the show but he “declined” the offer.

The pro dancer, who won Dancing On Ice this year, has remained vocal about Strictly since his departure, giving his honest opinion on celebrity dancers when asked.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!! I can’t even begin to tell you how much last night meant to myself and @alex_lukasz To win @dancingonice has been one of the highlights of my life. I’m actually for once very proud of myself. The biggest win for me was all the support we have received throughout the show. Without your support and votes it would not have been possible, so I thank you again. The whole DOI team were amazing. Also the support from the pros and celebs was totally overwhelming 😢 What an amazing experience, made even better because of my pro @alex_lukasz who is a superstar! I now need to rest my body a bit and now support @olajordan in her judging adventures on Dancing With The Stars in Poland The only downside of the show was I hardly saw Ola. 😍 I still can’t believe what just happened! Love you all 😘
