Is it wrong that we're looking forward to it?

In tense scenes to be aired soon, Sean will pick up Amy – the daughter of his ex-girlfriend Roxy Mitchell – from school and lie about his intentions.

Young Amy is seen asking Sean: “Did my mum really send you?”

To which Sean answers with a smirk: “Yeah.”

But viewers know that Roxy died several years ago, in a horrific swimming pool accident. So what’s it all about?

Sean mistakenly believed Amy was his daughter when she was born but, in fact, her dad is Jack Branning.

Rob Kazinsky is returning as Sean for a short spell later this year, and soap fans got their first glimpse of him in the new spring trailer which dropped this week.

Alongside the trailer, the soap teased: “It’s all about to kick off in Albert Square. #EastEnders. Coming Soon.”

Sean is returning after 10 years away from Walford as part of the heart-wrenching storyline chronicling his on-screen mum Jean Slater’s ovarian cancer diagnosis.

The actor recently said he was returning for a short stint because he had “unfinished business in Albert Square”.

The last time we saw Sean on the BBC soap, he found out that Amy wasn’t his daughter via the unusual medium of a Christmas cracker.

After finding out the news, he tried to kill himself and Roxy by driving them into the lake, but both survived and Sean fled.

Does he even know that Roxy died years later in another horrible accident?
