M&S launches Percy Pig Phizzy Pop and fans are saying it’s perfect with gin

The pink drink has a raspberry flavour

| Updated:

Last week was all about Colin the Caterpillar as he celebrated his 30th birthday. This week, however, it appears it’s the turn of Percy Pig to sparkle.

Quite literally with the latest M&S Percy Pig offering.

After the launch of the party-themed Percy Pigs, next comes Percy Pig Phizzy Pop – a fizzy drink inspired by the sweets.

Yes, after ice cream, dessert sauce and pancakes, there’s a new Percy treat on the block.

And did we mention that it’s pink?!

And, it appears, Brits can’t wait to try it.

“Can’t wait to try it. Wonder if it’s as good as the sweets?” one commented.

“Oh my god!” exclaimed many others on Kev’s Snack Reviews’ Instagram post.

“Oh wow!” another said.

“Oh my god, need this right now,” said another.

“OMG need to try this!” another confirmed.

The label reveals the new drink is made from “carbonated spring water” with “raspberry juice and white grape juice”.

However, despite the drink being a soft drink, some had decidedly boozy plans for it.

“Nice with gin”

“Wonder if it will be nice with gin,” one pondered.

“Add gin?” another asked.

“Looks like it’ll make a good mixer. Fancy a gin and Percy?” another commented.

“I’m thinking with gin and fresh lime,” said another.

“I wonder what cocktails we could make with it,” another replied, tagging a pal.

“That was my first thought too,” they responded.

“I see a cocktail on the horizon,” another added.

“Add a bit of alcohol and I think we’ve got a Percy Pig cocktail,” said another.

“I’m heading to M&S now!” declared another.

Some were concerned the drink would be too “sickly”, but it got a resounding thumbs up from the Instagram foodie community.

How much is it?

The 750ml bottle is on sale now in M&S and costs £2.25.
