Strictly Come Dancing: Catherine Tyldesley’s son Alfie melts hearts with adorable good-luck message for his mum

Too cute

Soap actress Catherine Tyldesley has melted fans’ hearts with a sweet video of her young son wishing her luck on Strictly Come Dancing.

The former Coronation Street star, who is taking to the dance floor tonight (21.09.19) for the first of the Strictly live shows, posted a clip to her Instagram that showed Alfie, four, telling her to “keep dancing”.

In the video, Cath’s husband asks Alfie: “What do you want to say to Mummy and Johannes?”

The youngster replies enthusiastically: “Good luck Mummy and Johannes!”

Tom then asks him, “Are you excited? Will you be watching?” and he squeals, “Yeah!”

With encouragement from his dad, Alfie adds: “Keep dancing!”

Her followers rushed to comment on the cute clip, with one telling her, “Aww he is adorable. Good Luck to you both too xx” and another saying, “Omg I can’t” alongside a heart emoji.

Someone else wrote, “What a sweetheart xx” while a fourth put, “He’s so adorable”.

And Cath’s professional partner on the show, Johannes Radebe, could hardly cope, writing: “My poor [heart]! He is everything!”

It appears Alfie gets on really well with the South African dancer.

Last week, she posted a video of the four-year-old dancing with the pro as she gave fans an insight into how they’re training together.

Cath, who is due to dance the Viennese Waltz with Johannes with her first entry in this year’s competition, wrote in the caption: “@johannesradebe finds a new partner! #Alfie @bbcstrictly #strictly.”

The clip showed Johannes moving around the dance floor and playfully swinging Alfie around to the delight of his mum in the background.

Catherine has been training hard, but there’s one aspect of rehearsals she’s struggled to cope with – all the spinning around.

She’s been taking travel sickness tablets while practising the Viennese Waltz.

Speaking recently, Catherine said she’s been “loving it” so far despite all the training and sickness.

She revealed on BBC Breakfast: “Do you know what? I’m loving it and my partner Johannes is just phenomenal in every way. I’m extremely nervous and I’m doing the Viennese Waltz, which makes me feel very sick. I’m actually taking travel sickness tablets because of the spinning!”
