Ally McCoist in trouble with his family after ‘turning down I’m A Celebrity’

One famous face who WON"T be heading to the jungle down under

Ally McCoist’s family are giving him the silent treatment after claims he rejected a spot on I’m A Celebrity.

The retired footballer admitted he and his loved ones are huge fans of the ITV reality show – and so his wife and five sons are disappointed he turned down the chance to head to the jungle.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “I’m not doing the jungle and there is nobody talking to me.

“My wife is not giving a monkey’s about me eating spiders and earwigs, she is just wanting a two stretch in that Versace hotel.”

The former Question of Sport captain also suggested his sons are getting stick at school over the decision not to head down under.

“They are going to school and they are getting it off their pals,” he continued.

“It’s the biggest thing we watch as a family, it’s brilliant entertainment.”

The 57-year-old former Rangers player and manager also heaped praise on last year’s King of the Jungle Harry Redknapp, promising to “do it next year” if he gets asked again.

Ally added: “Harry was fantastic last year. It’s too late now but I’ll do it next year.”

He also joked that a big fee would certainly help encourage him to sign on the dotted line with ITV.

“Finance isn’t that important to me but I can guarantee you if the figures were around [what Harry was paid] I would be on that British Airways flight right now.

“I would be swinging from the trees.”
