Married at First Sight UK: Owen and Michelle’s lasting love story

MAFS UK 2020 wasn't the success story fans may have hoped for...

Married at First Sight UK returned this week (August 30) with new couples and a new format – on a new channel

With the likes of Nikita and Ant already sparking drama, some fans are missing the last series.

But did any of the couples actually stay together, or did their relationships fizzle out?

Here’s every couple from the last Channel 4 series that’s still going strong…

Married at First Sight UK series 5 – Which couple is still together?

Sadly not many couples managed to find lasting love on the final Channel 4 series.

In fact, only one pair actually stayed together and are still enjoying their marriage.

That couple is Owen and Michelle Jenkins.

The two lovebirds live together in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Michelle moved up to the city to live with her new hubby, and they’ve been shacked up ever since.

They have a joint Instagram together where they keep fans up to date on their lives as a couple.

In a recent Instagram post, the pair made a heartwarming confession.

“Every day I love you more,” wrote Michelle.

“I feel so lucky to have this man every day of my life.”

Furthermore, last month they had an “emotional” trip together where they visited the first place they met.

“So emotional coming back here after a year and a half, to where we first got married (and met!),” they wrote.

Sadly, other series 5 couple Shareen and David ended up splitting, with their marriage basically ending after just 48 hours.

Have any couples from the previous series of MAFSUK stayed together?

Now, this is where it gets a bit depressing.

The show might be about finding love, but sadly no other couples have managed to do just that.

While some have lasted longer than others, there are no other Married At First Sight UK success stories.

E4 producers will be hoping the new series, which debuted this week (August 30), can change that.

However, if Nikita and Ant’s pairing is anything to go by, their matchmaking skills only seem to be getting progressively worse.

Married at First Sight UK airs Monday – Thursdays at 9pm on E4
