Who plays DI Kieran Shaw in The Tower?

Emmett J. Scanlan plays DI Kieran Shaw in The Tower.

The actor says of returning to Liverpool to film: “Yeah, that was interesting.

“I was either filming in Liverpool or Manchester, so frequenting streets that I used to frequent back in 2010 [while appearing on Hollyoaks].

“That was definitely a trip down memory lane.

“I don’t really mind where I’m filming so long as I’m filming.

“I’m usually my happiest when I’m on set and we get to play, get to dance, get to make believe.

“It’s the creative process that’s important to me.”

Emmett J. Scanlan wife – who is he married to?

Emmett married Hollyoaks co-star Claire Cooper in 2015.

Soap fans will know that she played Jacqui McQueen.

Actor Emmett, who played Brendan Brady in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks from 2010 to 2013, fell in love with wife Claire on set.

The pair got wed on New Year’s Eve in New York.

Several of their Hollyoaks pals were in attendance for the ceremony.

He told Hello! magazine at the time: “It’s something I’ll never forget.

“Everyone got behind the wedding with such love that it was overwhelming at times.”

Emmett and Claire, 40, are parents to a one-year-old son, who was born in July 2020.

Emmett is also dad to his teenage daughter Kayla from a previous relationship.

He is clearly very proud to be a father as his Twitter and Instagram bios both read: “A father. In that order.”

How old is Emmett J. Scanlan? Where is he from?

Reports differ as to Emmett’s exact age. But it is believed he was born on January 31 1979.

That means he is currently 42 years old. Some sources list him as 41, however.

But there’s no doubt about where the Irish star is from originally.

He was born in the north-western outer suburbs of Dublin in Ireland.

Who did he play in Hollyoaks?

Emmett J. Scanlan played Brendan Brady in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks from 2010 to 2013.

Despite having played one of Hollyoaks’ most immediately recognisable characters, it may surprise some to realise Emmett was only in the soap for three years.

However, when accounting for all of his appearances in Hollyoaks specials as well as regular episodes, he was in nearly 350 shows!

So, could he return?

Brendan is in prison as far as Hollyoaks fans are concerned.

Ste Hay actor Kieron Richardson would certainly be interested in reforming his acting partnership with his character’s former boyfriend.

Kieron told Digital Spy last year: “I’m sure Emmett is very busy.

So we just have to hope one day he stops getting all of these incredible roles and comes back to me.”

Emmett played Josh Mason in Safe, Michael Callaghan in The Deceived and Jimmy Kinsella in Kin.

His film credits include Guardians of the Galaxy.

He’ll soon appear as Marcus in Call My Agent UK.
