Denise Welch appeared to divide Loose Women viewers today (November 30), as she raged over the government’s reintroduction of face masks.
The actress discussed the topic with her fellow panellists Ruth Langsford, Janet Street Porter and Coleen Nolan.
However, Denise soon descended into a rant.

Face masks have been made mandatory again due to the rise of the Omicron COVID variant.
On the show, Denise promoted for the government to look into the current crisis surrounding mental health instead.
She said: “It comes from the mental health perspective. And the thing about masks is – I will die on the mental health hill, I will not die on the mask hill.

“All I’ve ever wanted to do is ask questions and have the questions be answered correctly. And one of my things about masks is, why are people saying now, ‘Well we shouldn’t have let the mask mandate go, we should have kept the mask mandate going completely.'”
Denise went on to explain that she gets her information from verified sources, including doctors and nurses.
The star added: “The dialogue I’ve had with medics – people think that I get my information from Joe from Facebook – I don’t.

“I actually speak a lot to lots of very, very important medical people and an infectious disease doctor.”
She continued: “We are already desperately trying to navigate around Covid protocol, which means stopping people being with their loved ones, being with them in ambulances.”

Denise prompted a mixed reaction from viewers at home.

A third shared: “I agree 100% with Denise!! We have a serious mental health problem all over and all ages… I grew up through the troubles and still live in northern Ireland, these lockdowns and restrictions, I feel are a lot harder than riots.”

Denise angers some viewers
A fourth commented: “@loosewomen I agree 100% with Denise Welch on her opinion of COVID and mask wearing, I think the whole thing is political and has been hyped up out of all proportion. Plus people who suffer from asthma cannot breathe properly with the mask on.”
However, others shared a very different view.
