Anne Hegerty reveals plans for a NEW Chase spin-off series

Oh no! Oh yes!

| Updated:

Fans of The Chase were thrilled recently when it was revealed that a new spin-off show was in the works.

The show – Are You Smarter Than A Chaser? – was claimed to feature the show’s stars as they took on brainboxes from across the world.

But star Chaser Anne Hegerty has knocked back those claims… while revealing details of a different Chase spin-off.

The Governess, 61, was reportedly set to join Mark Labbett, Jenny Ryan, Paul Sinha and Shaun Wallace travelling the world taking on brainboxes in Are You Smarter Than A Chaser?

But Anne, appearing on Channel 5’s The Jeremy Vine Show earlier this week, had some bad news for fans.

“There are no plans to make a show called Are You Smarter Than A Chaser? and the term ‘chaser’ is owned by Potato Productions who makes The Chase,” she said when asked about the rumoured show.

But there was GOOD news for Chase fans.

“Three of the chasers are in the process of making a documentary series about intelligence and about how different kinds of intelligence compare to each other,” she explained.

“I will tell you that, I’m not allowed to tell you more.”

Meanwhile, TV bosses have come up with a plan to help Paul Sinha as he remains on The Chase amid his Parkinson’s battle.

In June, the quiz star revealed he has Parkinson’s disease.

“I will fight this with every breath I have,” he tweeted at the time and added further details of his diagnosis in a blog post.

Speaking about Paul’s diagnosis this week, fellow Chaser Mark Labbett said there are “plans afoot if the worst comes to the worst”.
