BGT fans want Stavros Flatley to win – even though they aren’t contenders!

The duo made a shock return during the live shows

One of Britain’s Got Talent‘s most legendary acts returned unexpectedly last night – and delighted audiences all over again.

On Tuesday (May 28), Stavros Flatley made a shock comeback to the show as part of the semi-finals.

Fans of the talent show will know that the father and son act first appeared in 2009 – when their legendary dance act won the judges over and saw them get through to the final.

Simon Cowell even called them his “favourite ever dance act”.

However, the British-Greek Cypriot duo – aka Demetrios and his son Michalakis ‘Lagi’ Andreas – came fourth, losing out to eventual winners of the third series, Diversity.

However, they appeared to come out on top this week when they surprised viewers 10 years after they first appeared on the series.

The duo featured as part of magic group 4MG’s act, as the magicians performed a ‘mind reading trick’.

At the end, it was revealed the words the judges had been thinking of spelt out Stavros Flatley, before the pair burst through the locker doors at the back of the stage.

And the fans went wild.

As they danced on stage in their trademark black trousers and blonde wigs, viewers rushed to Twitter to demand the double act get another shot at performing in the final!

One simply wrote: “Stavros Flatley to win #BGT2019.”

Another said: “Stavros Flatley best act of the night.”

A third added: “Personally I think Stavros Flatley should go through # #

“Is it too late to vote for Stavros Flatley to win?” asked another.

Many more expressed their desire to “just vote for Stavros Flatley” instead of the other eight contenders.

Lagi was just 13 years old when the pair made it through to the show’s final in 2009 with their comedy Riverdance routine.

They were last seen on TV in March, when they made another guest appearance on a show with Amanda Holden – this time on Celebrity Apprentice.

Unsurprisingly, perhaps, 4MG flew through to the final on Sunday, with the four-piece receiving the most votes from the public.

Victoria Wood-style singing comedienne Siobhan Phillips also got through.

Only two acts are chosen every night in the run-up to Sunday’s grand final (June 2).
