When Esme did show up wanting to reconcile, Ethan rejected her because of that incident.

Esme swore that she had never arranged a meet-up and failed to show, but Ethan didn’t believe her.
When he spoke to Meena about it, she advised him to cut his mum loose.
Now Manpreet is living with terrible guilt about their ruined relationship.

When Manpreet confronts Meena over what happened, the cold-hearted psycho has no regrets.
She deliberately cuts off the conversation and lets Manpreet know she doesn’t care.

Determined to put things right, Manpreet talks to Ethan and says he should give his mum another chance.
Charles is delighted to discover Manpreet has been so kind to his son, and it looks like they could have a future together after all.
