There’s romance heading for the cobbles next week as Peter Barlow and Abi Franklin grow closer while working on the boat… but is this the start of a hot new romance?
Abi is chuffed when Peter asks her to have a look at his decrepit old boat, and when she sees there is some serious work to be done on the engine, she offers to fix it for him.
But as the pair chat over a cuppa on board the boat that Carla gave to Peter, they share their darkest secrets and bond over their chequered pasts – and before long Peter is offering Abi a full-time job working on his boat, leaving her thrilled.

However, it’s not all good news for Abi next week when the hearing for Seb to adopt the twins arrives.
When Seb lies to the court that he is in full-time employment despite the fact Gary sacked him, Abi reveals to the judge that while it breaks her heart, she thinks the twins should stay with their foster family because Seb is lying about his situation.
Seb’s understandably heartbroken at Abi’s betrayal… leaving the pair more estranged than ever.
When she comes home later that day, Peter can see that she’s not happy and takes her back to his boat to chat.
Seeing how upset she is, Peter does his best to comfort Abi – but as they talk the pair end up kissing passionately.
The following day Peter finds Abi working hard on the boat, only for her to confess that she needs to keep busy if she is going to have a chance to keep out of trouble.
Thinking about their kiss the pervious evening, Abi then asks Peter about his relationship with Carla, wondering if she is going to find herself caught up in a messy love triangle.

But Peter assures her that he’s just friends with Carla, and the pair share another kiss.
However, it seems Peter might not be being entirely truthful about his feelings for his former flame, because later that day he chats to Carla about their relationship and moves in for a kiss with her as well.
How will Carla respond to his advances, and where does this leave poor Abi?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
