Catherine Tyldesley reveals ‘hearing problem’ after family trip to Portugal

She's been in Portugal with husband Tom and son Alfie

Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has revealed she’s having issues with her hearing after returning from a swank holiday to Portugal.

The actress, 35, took to social media to tell her followers her ears have been bothering her since she arrived back in the UK on Sunday (June 9).

In a string of videos posted to her Instagram Stories, Catherine said: “My ears still haven’t rectified from the flight. You when they pop, and you can’t hear anything?

“Still can’t hear anything, which is proving quite handy in terms of selective hearing with my husband. However, it’s driving me slightly mental.

“I’ve tried yawning. I’ve tried popping my ears, which makes a really loud irritating whistling noise that apparently even Alfie could hear. It’s driving me mad.”

Catherine, who played Weatherfield’s Eva Price, was away with her husband Tom Pitfield and their son Alfie.

She posted a number of cute snaps from the trip, including one of the three of them walking along a beach and another of them beaming at the camera with the Atlantic ocean sweeping out behind.

In the post, she said Portugal had been “a dream” and a “rest needed beyond belief”, and told fans she was “so grateful” to be spending time with her boys.

Catherine also shared a snap of herself chilling in a pool and smiling at Alfie off camera.

It follows a recent interview with the Metro in which she opened up about her “wobbly bits” and revealed her struggles with body confidence.

She told the publication: “I have days where I don’t feel great in a swimsuit.

“But I’ll go to the edge of the pool, drop my towel or sarong at the last minute, I’ll get in and once I’m in, I feel great.

“I’ve got wobbly bits, I’ve got stretch marks. I’m getting in [the pool] with my son and having such a laugh. We’re getting fit at the same time, we’re building up our confidence, and just having the best time.”
