The Radfords mum Sue defends family against troll accusing them of ‘flaunting their wealth’

Family told: "You should remember where you came from"

22 Kids and Counting mum Sue of the Radfords has defended her family against Instagram accusations they ‘flaunt’ their wealth.

Sue slapped down a troll and shared her riposte with social media followers yesterday (Sunday, November 28) evening.

The mother-of-22 (and also grandmother of seven) blasted her attacker after giving fans a peep of a new mattress for the kids.

What were the Radfords accused of on Instagram?

One Insta user reacted to the £750 purchase by claiming it is a “disgusting waste of money”.

They continued: “You should remember where you came from and start giving back instead of flaunting your ‘wealth’.”

The social media user also claimed the family must not be able to afford their lifestyle through the family pie business alone.

They banged on: “Are people so blind not to see that you’ve taken advantage of freebies?

“Because no amount of pies would be enough to cover the expensive items you’ve been bragging about.

“Seriously so many people are homeless and starving.”

How Sue responded

Sue, from Morecambe in Lancashire, was having none of it.

She explained detractors have little understanding about how Britain’s biggest family, many of whom live in a 10-bed former care home, support themselves.

She fired back, sharing the message with her followers on Stories: “We’ve worked extremely hard to get to where we are now.”

Sue also insisted critics don’t take into account the family’s other ventures, including on social media.

She continued: “I think people forget that we don’t just have our bakery. We also work very hard on our media company and filming for our new programme just like lots of other ‘influencers.’

“I hate that word but most YouTubers don’t also run a very successful business.”

How other fans reacted

Many other commenters on Sue’s original post concerning the mattress also picked up on negativity aimed at the family.

“Gosh this has brought all the bitter rude people out of the woodwork hasn’t it,” remarked one fan.

Another commented: “Too many jealous people about.”

And a third wondered: “Why do people have to be so nasty? Can’t anyone be nice anymore?”
