Strictly Come Dancing: Tamzin Outhwaite admits it’s a ‘box she wants to tick’

She's worried her body might not be up to it, though!

Tamzin Outhwaite has revealed Strictly Come Dancing might just be on the cards in the future.

The actress, who turns 50 in November, told Entertainment Daily it’s a box that she wants to tick.

But Tamzin just isn’t sure when – or if her body’s up to the challenge.

What did Tamzin Outhwaite say about Strictly?

Speaking exclusively to ED!, Tamzin revealed: “It’s one of those things I always think… There are boxes you want to tick as a human being and there’s something about Strictly that keeps coming back into my head.”

With the contestants already announced for this year’s show, Tamzin admitted she’s certainly keen to join the show at some point in the future.

“I’m just not sure when,” she said, adding: “Or if I’m too old now, if my body can take it any more.”

Tamzin added: “It’s a lot of work on your muscles, but I think I’d be fine.

“One day maybe, who knows!”

I’m just not sure when or if I’m too old now, if my body can take it any more.

Tamzin revealed she is currently trying to “fall back in love” with the gym post-lockdown, so it could be that she’s limbering up those Strictly muscles.

Tamzin’s new diet

She’s currently following a no alcohol, no dairy and no meat diet and she said it makes her feel less “sluggish”.

She told us: “I do it for a bit and then I have a break from it. It makes it so much easier for me to work out as I don’t feel sluggish.

“I’m trying to move towards being plant-based and drink much less,” she added.

“At the beginning of lockdown I was quite unhealthy then I turned it round. I went to the Body Camp in Majorca and it made everything easier.

“I don’t love the gym so it’s falling back in love with exercise that’s happening.”

New work on the horizon

Next for Tamzin, however, is new BBC drama Ridley Road, which was announced yesterday (September 23).

She told us: “We’re filming this week. It’s set in the 1960s and I play a brilliant hairdresser called Barbara.”

For now, Tamzin fans can see the former EastEnders star appearing in her first music video.

The actress stars in the video for the new single from Matinee.
