Piers Morgan has joked his son should “man up” after he was hospitalised with a rugby injury.
The Good Morning Britain host’s youngest lad Bertie, 17, underwent surgery last night after dislocating his shoulder for a SECOND time.
On Tuesday’s show, Piers took the opportunity to wish his boy all the best and encourage him to be resilient – particularly as Bertie had only just recovered from a similar knock.

Sitting alongside co-hosts Susanna Reid and Charlotte Hawkins, the 52-year-old said: “I just want to say good morning to my youngest son. He’s watching from a hospital bed.
“This time last year he dislocated his shoulder playing rugby. Nine months rehab, got back in the team, got back to his best, started playing really well again and then it happened all over again last week. Even worse than the last time.
“So he had a major op last night. It’s all gone well. Good morning to you son, I’ll come see you later.”

Piers added: “That’s sport for you, injuries, the blight of great sportsmen everywhere.”
Attempting to impersonate Rocky Balbo, the ex newspaper editor added: “It’s not how many times you get knocked down, it’s how many times you get back up.”
He then quipped: “Man up son.”
A few minutes afterwards, Bertie tweeted his thanks to medical staff and vowed to be back to full strength as soon as possible.

Pictured in his London hospital bed, the determined teen said: “Time to get back on the road to recovery and smash the rehab again.”
Last week, Piers shared a snap of his son wearing a sling with his 6.44 million followers on Twitter.
At the time, he said: “One year on… same shoulder, same injury (dislocation) same cause (rugby tackle), same A&E department of same hospital. On the one positive note, thanks again to staff at Kingston Hospital for fantastic service.”
“Maybe time to switch to football,” he joked.
