Luke Perry’s reps deny the actor is in a “coma” after suffering a “massive stroke”

Co-stars rally around the Riverdale actor

Luke Perry’s representatives have denied claims he has been placed in a medically induced coma after suffering a “massive stoke” at his home in California.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210, and Riverdale star was sedated after being rushed to hospital yesterday.

Speaking to Mirror Online, the star’s spokesman categorically said: “He is not in a coma.”

There is no update on the 52-year-old actor’s condition after it was revealed that he was sedated and under observation in hospital after being attended to by paramedics in his Sherman Oaks home.

Luke shot to fame as Dylan McKay in the 90’s teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210 and is currently starring as Fred Andrews in Riverdale.

The actor’s co-stars took to social media to share their shock and best wishes.

Ian Ziering who starred alongside Luke in Beverly Hills, 90210, share a picture of them on Instagram, writing: “No words can express what my heart feels hearing today’s shocking news. Let us all say a prayer for his speedy recovery.”

While Riverdale’s John Behlmann tweeted: “Wishing all the best and a safe recovery for Luke Perry. I only barely met and worked with him, but he seems as good a man as you encounter.”

Luke’s friends Kirsty Swanson, Molly Ringwald, Shannen Doherty and Dean Cain were among the celebrities who posted to Twitter to send their best wishes. Dean wrote: “Praying hard for Luke Perry today. May he have a full and fast recovery.”

The news of his hospitalisation came just a day after it was confirmed the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210 will reunite for a reboot of the series.

Fox announced that it was rebooting the series with original stars Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth, Jason Priestley, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris and Brian Austin Green signing up to be a part of it.

Tori Spelling revealed earlier this month that Luke will do “as many [episodes] as he can do”  as he was currently filming for his Netflix show.
