Katie Price gets a guard dog to ‘feel safer’ after South African carjacking

She posted a video of the new pooch on Instagram

Model Katie Price has revealed that she has got a guard dog to protect her family.

It follows a carjacking incident in South Africa last year, when Katie and her eldest children – Princess and Junior – were “hijacked at gun point”.

Posting a video of a training session with the dog to Instagram, Katie revealed that the pooch is called Blade.

She said: “Meet Blade our new family protection dog @protectiondogworldwide.”

She added that they were “doing our first training session together this morning”.

A report in The Sun says that Katie also said she got the dog to “feel safer” following the carjacking.

It happened when she was filming her reality TV series in South Africa last year as the family pulled over to go to the toilet.

Katie reportedly said: “I will feel safer and so will Princess as she still suffers from the hijack at gun point we had in South Africa when filming last year.”

Katie is mum to Harvey, 17, Junior, 14, Princess, 12, Jett, five, and four-year-old Bunny.

Speaking after the carjacking, Katie revealed that she thought she might die.

She said: “We’d just got out of the car to have a wee – all of us. Six guys pulled up with their guns and said: ‘We’re going to shoot and kill you.'”

She added: “I said: ‘You’ve got to kill me, you’re not getting to my kids.'”

The robbers made off with cash, jewellery, laptops and camera equipment worth tens of thousands of pounds.
