Fans beside themselves as they think John Lewis has dropped a teaser trailer for its new Christmas advert

It's on its way!

We’ve already had the Sainsbury’s and M&S Christmas adverts, and now it seems we’re about to get the eagerly-anticipated John Lewis festive advert.

The legendary high-street brand has a reputation for producing the best and most magical Xmas commercials.

A new Twitter account has been created and posted a cryptic message, which fans think heralds this year’s Yuletide advert from John Lewis.

The 10-second teaser shows a young child’s hand reach up and knock on a thick wooden door.

With snow falling, the gargoyle-type knocker soon gives way and the door opens.

Text then comes up on the screen saying ‘Meet Edgar’ and the date 14.11.19.

There was also the hashtag ‘#ExcitableEdgar’.

Twitter users immediately took to the social media site, convinced that the teaser was indeed the work of John Lewis.

“Anyone else thinking #johnlewischristmasadvert?” one wrote.
