Bride slammed for kicking guest out of wedding for wearing a ‘white’ outfit

She said her brother-in-law asked her if she could change

If you’ve ever been to a wedding, you know trying to find a suitable outfit can be tough.

But one woman who thought she had found the ideal outfit for her brother-in-law’s big day was left stunned when his fiancé said it was too white.

Taking to Reddit, the anonymous woman said she shared a close bond with her brother-in-law and hoped she would take the non-traditional role as one of his groomsmen.

However, his bride-to-be wasn’t happy with the idea and demanded it didn’t happen that way.

She explained: “I got a call about two weeks later from him telling me that the fiancé wasn’t comfortable with it.

“From what I gathered, she was concerned about the stag night and that a woman coming along could cause problems.

“I was completely baffled since my husband was going (to the local pub, hardly anything wild). Again I let it slide because I didn’t want to cause problems.”

The woman said she accepted the decision and had completely forgot about it by the time the wedding came around.

But, the woman revealed her brother-in-law came up to her at the reception looking “mortified”.

She said: “Then the reception rolls around and (my brother-in-law) comes up to me looking mortified.

“He asks me if I have anything to change into. At first, I’m confused, then I see [the bride] staring daggers at me.”

The woman claimed the bride felt that her dress was white and wanted her to change.

According to the woman, she was wearing a floral dress with small bits of white showing through.

She wrote: “I said I didn’t have anything to change into. This is the point where [the bride] comes over and tells me with a smirk that her mother, who is overweight and in her mid-sixties, has a dress I can borrow.

“I told her there wasn’t a chance a dress from her mother would fit me and she told me it was either wear it or go back home and change.”

The woman said she then chose to leave the wedding.

She added: “[The bride] has since texted me asking me for an apology and has shared a lot of passive aggressive Facebook memes about ‘stealing the moment.'”

Fellow Reddit users were quick to criticise the bride, with one person commenting: “Wow. That Bride has some serious self-esteem issues to be that jealous.”

Another said: “This has nothing to do with the dress. The bride is extremely jealous of OP and was looking for an excuse to get rid of her. She wants to drive OP away from her new husband permanently.”

However, many people agreed with the bride and said guests shouldn’t wear white to a wedding.
