Strictly’s Anton du Beke to host This Morning with Rochelle Humes on Friday

He's already delighted This Morning fans with his Baking Fails segment

Strictly Come Dancing pro Anton Du Beke is set to host This Morning after delighting viewers earlier this month.

The professional dancer, 52, will present the programme on Friday (May 31) with The Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes.

Speaking to The Mirror, the dad-of-two revealed he’s looking forward to his stint on the breakfast show and hopes viewers will enjoy having him on their screens.

He told the paper: “I can’t wait. I’ve big boots to fill, but hopefully viewers will welcome me with open arms.

“No doubt [there will] be a sprinkling of dancing with Rochelle at some point.”

The duo will be standing in for This Morning regulars Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, who normally hold the fort on Fridays in lieu of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

Earlier this month, Anton won the hearts of the viewership with a new segment on the programme.

In the first installment of his four-part series, Anton Du Bake: Baking Fails, he danced around his kitchen with cake mixture in hand.

And viewers not only got the chance to see Anton bake a delicious-looking Victoria sponge, they also got a glimpse of his wife Hannah Summers and their adorable two-year-old twins, Henrietta and George, as they enjoyed a slice of cake.

Anton, who trained as a baker before becoming a professional dancer, delighted fans as he admitted the best part of baking was enjoying it afterwards and served his smiling family.

Anton has been a professional on Strictly Come Dancing since the show launched in 2004. But he could be in for another new gig if the bookies’ predictions are anything to go by.

The pro was last month named among the favourites to replace Strictly judge Darcey Bussell, who took to Twitter to announce her departure after seven years on the judging panel.

Anton was asked, during an appearance on Graham Norton’s Radio 2 show shortly after, if he’d be up for filling her shoes – and his answer was crystal clear.

He said: “Do you know what? I’m certainly qualified. I suspect there’ll be conversations going on, but it’s one of those things… I’m definitely qualified to do it, I’d love to do it, but we’ll have to wait to be asked in the normal way.”
