Marc Baylis spotted at Coronation Street, sparking Rob Donovan return rumours

Has he found a way to get out of jail?

Look out, Weatherfield – killer Rob Donovan is back in town!

Actor Marc Baylis has been spotted at the Coronation Street studios, looking mean and moody in a baseball cap and clearly trying to keep a low profile.

His character Rob was imprisoned for murdering Tina McIntyre (played by Michelle Keegan) back in 2014.

But after Marc was spotted at the ITV studios, rumours are flying that he could be making a return to the soap.

With assistants trying to keep him screened from view behind a large umbrella, and Marc staying hidden inside a big blue coat as he was driven off set, it’s clearly top secret stuff.

Rob was caught after his sister Carla gave him up to the police on his wedding day to fiancée Tracy Barlow.

At first he legged it and managed to escape, but was eventually given up by a broken-hearted Tracy and arrested.

He was sentenced to 25 years, and was last seen on screen from inside prison in 2015, where he attempted to get revenge on Carla and Tracy.

Whether his re-appearance is due to him being released for some reason or if he’ll be filming scenes from inside Weatherfield nick again this time remains to be seen…

Rob killed barmaid Tina, who had been having an affair with Peter Barlow, when she threatened to expose his dodgy business dealings and also tell his pregnant sister Carla about her cheating husband.

During a row between the pair, Tina fell from a balcony onto the street. At first she survived, but then killer Rob brutally finished her off on the cobbles below with an iron bar, in a storyline that shocked millions of viewers.

Rob became one of Corrie’s classic ever soap villains, but there has always been the possibility that he could return to the show and stir things up again.

At the time of his last return, back in 2015, actor Marc said: “I can’t wait to play Rob again and see what he has up his sleeve. One thing is certain – prison won’t stop Rob from affecting lives on the street.”
