Casualty trailer hints at Lily Chao’s death in upcoming episode

We'll be sad to see them go

Casualty revealed earlier this year they were planning on killing off a regular character and a new trailer has hinted at the identity of the deceased.

The action-packed preview shows a dead body under a sheet at the hospital, but who is it?

The first big clue came when the shot panned out to see a troubled Gem looking at a lifeless Lily Chao on the floor of the car park.

Paramedic Iain Dean rushes in to save her, but her body lies deadly still with blood pouring from her nose.

Is Lily the ‘heroic’ regular who dies? It certainly looks like it.

The cast have been spotted filming a funeral recently, but have so far remained tight-lipped over who it is.

Security personnel at the shoot were sworn to secrecy over the deceased’s identity, but a fan claims to have seen a name spelt out in flowers in the hearse.

Being a good sport though, the viewer hasn’t revealed the name they saw so they don’t spoil it for everyone else.

How very well-behaved of them!

Speaking to Digital Spy a Casualty source said:

“It looks like one of our favourite heroes could be about to meet their maker, but Casualty are keeping this shocking storyline close to their chests.”

But now it looks like Lily might kick the bucket, fans will be devastated as she has recently been growing closer to Iain.

In the trailer he’s seen starring longingly at her at the hospital. Could any hopes of romance between them be over?

And if Lily does die, is Gem involved? She’s the one who finds her and Iain’s seen shouting at his wayward sister in the trailer saying “every time I cut you some slack, you throw it back in my face”.

What does that mean? Does Gem KILL Lily?

Other major plot points were revealed too, with Sam wanting to make more cuts at Holby and threatening Connie that he would take away their daughter.

But later it looked like they were about to share a steamy kiss – are they getting back together?

Elsewhere, Robyn is concerned about David’s state of mind as he reaches rock bottom, and there’s fresh conflict between Cal, Alicia and Ethan.

It’s definitely all go this spring!
