It’s fair to say Daniel Osbourne and Sinead Tinker’s relationship in Corrie has moved pretty fast.
Shacked up and expecting a baby after only a few weeks of dating, most parents would be a bit concerned things are moving too fast.
But Ken Barlow is more than worried – he’s furious that his son is throwing away his future for a factory girl from Weatherfield – and he’s about to let Sinead know exactly how he feels.

Speaking to the Daily Star on Sunday, actress Katie McGlynn, who plays the mum-to-be, explained Ken is determined to split Sinead and Daniel up, whatever the cost.
“Ken is really harsh,” she said. “He says to Daniel that Sinead is to him what Deirdre was to Ken.
“I think Ken really regrets his own life. He always wanted what Daniel now has the chance to do – to go to university at Oxford, be educated and move away from Weatherfield.
“He is seeing Daniel just about to walk into that life and then a factory girl in Weatherfield gets her claws into him.
“He doesn’t want Sinead to get in the way of his dream because that’s what happened to him with Deirdre.”
Ouch, poor Deirdre will be turning in her grave hearing that.
When Sinead fell pregnant after one night of passion with Daniel, the young couple at first considered a termination. But then they decided they wanted to keep the baby and set about planning for the future.
But it means Daniel giving up the place he’s won to do an MA at Oxford and that’s what Ken’s annoyed about.
“Ken doesn’t take Sinead seriously and wants Daniel to go off and do all the things he wanted for himself,” Katie went on to say.
“I think she’s really hurt because she knows she’s not intellectual like Daniel.
“She obviously didn’t plan for this to happen. She’s been thrown into this situation and Ken is not being very nice about it.”
She added: “The fact he goes out of his way to make the point that she’s ‘just a factory girl’ is mean and she feels very hurt.”

With reports last week that one of Ken’s kids is set to turn on him, it’s looking more and more likely that Daniel will be the one to give his father a piece of his mind.
Even though Ken’s just trying to make up for all the years he was an absent father, he’s not going about it in the best way, and if he’s not careful he’ll end up pushing Daniel even further away.
Will Ken realise what he’s doing before it’s too late? Or is his dark edge set to continue?
