The 'genuinely' thought they were in trouble

What did Strictly stars Rose and Giovanni say about their Paso Doble?

Rose and Giovanni danced the Paso Doble to Sia’s California Dreamin’ on the live show last week.

And, as Janette pointed out, the dance left the pair in the middle of the leaderboard – a notoriously dangerous place to be.

Janette asked: “Were you nervous going into the results show?”

Rose admitted: “Definitely. Anything could happen and I genuinely thought, everyone else has done such amazing stuff and we’re in the middle…”

“Just because now the competition is very hard and everyone is amazing, you never know,” Giovanni added.

“We just have to go out on Saturday and do our best.”

The couple also admitted it was “horrible” being left to find out last if they were in the bottom two.

“It was terrifying because I just genuinely thought I could be in the bottom two and I thought be ready, be ready, be ready for it,” Rose said.

Gio added: “Genuinely we both thought we would be in the bottom two.”

Why were Rose and Giovanni worried about being in the bottom two?

Speaking to Janette, the pair dropped a bit of a bombshell – there was a slight mistake in their routine.

Of course, this could’ve led to fears viewers had picked up on it, with the error reflected in the scores on the results show.

Gio explained: “All day on Saturday she was going round doing this [makes fan flicking gesture] and then at the end of the dance when we were supposed to do that it didn’t work.”

“One time we needed it the most it didn’t do it,” Rose said. “But I carried on.”

What else happened on It Takes Two last night?

It was a bit of an emotional appearance for Rose as she reflected on her Strictly experience so far – and the fact that it will all soon come to an end.

There are just three live shows left as the show enters the quarter-final this weekend.

And, Rose said, she gets “emotional” whenever she thinks of her time on the show coming to an end.

She told Janette: “Every time I think of it I get really emotional. I try not to think about it and just enjoy it in the moment.

“I just don’t want it to end. I want to carry on forever.”
