Rylan snaps his spoon in Great British Bake Off teaser

Celebs will be feeling the pressure in the GBBO tent

A soggy bottom is the least of Rylan Clark-Neal’s worries during his time in the Great British Bake Off tent after the TV personality’s spooning technique threatens to prevent him from being crowned master baker.

The X Factor and Celebrity Big Brother favourite will be joined by the likes of Russell Brand, Michelle Keegan, Caroline Flack and Jeremy Paxman for the upcoming run of The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off on Channel 4.

But going by a new preview of the series it could be a stressful time for the celebrity contestants, with Johnny Vegas seen sobbing into his oven gloves.

Rylan also seems to be under pressure as viewers see his wooden spoon snap as he vigorously beats away.

Luckily for the 30-year-old, he’s not the only famous face suffering from baking blunders – Queen of the Jungle Toff, comedian Joe Wilkinson and newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy are also seen struggling with their bakes.

“Is everybody else finished?” an oblivious Paxman enquires, possibly not having kept an eye on his timings.

Rylan poked fun at his mishap on social media by retweeting a clip of the spoon-smashing soundtracked by a line from Whitney Houston track I Didn’t Know My Own Strength.

“How did you possibly break a wooden spoon?” asked one follower.

“Hilarious,” remarked another, adding a crying with laughter emoji to their tweet.

“Safe to say I won’t be buying your range of bakeware,” joked a third.

However, some fans were not sure about the sight of co-host Noel Fielding’s lighter locks in the clip.

“Noely Noel, you are all starting to blend together. Come back to the dark side,” one implored.
