Bookies reveal favourite to replace Craig Revel Horwood on Strictly this weekend

Get well soon Craig!

Strictly Come Dancing viewers won’t see judge Craig Revel Horwood on the panel this weekend, but will somebody replace him?

Craig has tested positive for COVID-19 and is in isolation.

So BBC bosses are reportedly racing to find a replacement on the judging panel.

Read on to find out who’s in the frame.

Who could stand in for Craig Revel Horwood?

There are a few names in the frame to fill Craig’s shoes for show nine this weekend.

They include former contestants Bill Bailey and Len Goodman and even Cheryl Tweedy, who was tipped to join the show in 2020.

But pro dancer Oti Mabuse has been revealed as the favourite to replace Craig, according to bookies at BeMyBet.com

Odds of her sitting in Craig’s seat are currently 10/3.

Second favourite is pro Aljaž Škorjanec, who was voted out of the competition last weekend and has odds of 4/1.

But Karen Hauer also has the same odds, so if Oti doesn’t replace Craig she’s in with a chance too.

Interestingly bookies say the chances of nobody at all filling in are 7/1.

All being well, he will return the following week

The least likely people to stand-in on the judging panel are pro dancers James Jordan and Kevin Clifton, with odds of 20/1.

When will Craig return to Strictly?

The judge, 56, is expected to return to the programme next week after his period of self-isolation ends.

A Strictly Come Dancing spokesperson said: “Craig Revel Horwood has tested positive for Covid-19 and is now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines.

“While Craig will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, all being well, he will return the following week.”

Craig is just the latest Strictly star to be struck down by coronavirus.

Loose Women star Judi Love, who was the fifth contestant to be eliminated, was the most recent star to have tested positive.

She had been due to perform a cha-cha to Physical by Olivia Newton-John during the October 23 show but had to pull out.

This week’s theme is musicals.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One, this Saturday (November 20), at 6:35pm.
