Jess Impiazzi split from her rugby player fiance Denny Solomona before entering the Celebrity Big Brother earlier this week.
But rewind two years and it was another high-profile romance making the headlines.
And sadly, not just for good reasons.
Former Ex On The Beach star Jess, 28, was subjected to disgraceful abuse when it was claimed she’d struck up a relationship with Hollywood superstar Charlie Sheen, 52.
The pair were first linked in June 2016 after meeting while Charlie was in the UK to promote his partnership with condom brand Lelo Hex.
Charlie had confirmed his HIV positive diagnosis just months earlier, and his rumoured romance with Jess led to her being bombarded with hateful comments online.
Speaking to Daily Star Sunday at the time, she said: “I have had tweets calling me a [bleep] and saying ‘now you’ve got HIV’. And other people were calling me ‘AIDS Girl’.”
Jess said the abuse started after Charlie posted a photo of them together to Twitter with the caption: “Touring London with Jess Impiazzi.”
“I noticed people were writing disgusting things making fun of him having HIV,” she said. “People are so naïve and stupid when it comes to things like this. They think it is OK to mock people and judge people.
“I had to try to rise above it,” she added.
“The people who go out of their way to say horrible stuff, they are the ones with the problem.”
Jess and Hollywood legend Charlie first met at his condom launch party in London, prompting rumours of a romance.
However, Charlie initially seemed bemused by the speculation, telling The Guardian he would love to be dating Jess but it was all untrue and he didn’t know who she was.
He said: “It’s one time I wanted the story to be true! But I’m the AIDS guy, so what am I going to say? ‘Come to the hotel and have a scone?’ What’s my opening line? ‘Wanna come up and risk your life?'”
However, they clearly got in touch somehow, as Charlie asked Jess and her mum to accompany him on a Jack The Ripper Tour in the capital.
Jess later said they’d kept in touch via the phone when Charlie returned to LA – but played down any romance.
She told Digital Spy: “That got a little bit more blown out of the water than what it is.
“We’re friends, we’re still in contact – we are just friends. There was nothing there romantic – we’re not boyfriend and girlfriend at all.
“He’s just a kind nice person and I was lucky to have met him. I enjoyed it.”
Jess went on to find love with rugby player Denny Solomona, getting engaged to him in November 2016 during a holiday to Las Vegas.
However, she confirmed this week the engagement was off.
She told The Sun: “We weren’t seeing much of each other and we weren’t getting on very well.
“There’s no nastiness or anything and that’s the main thing, I guess.”
