Bride-to-be’s mum points out her ‘back fat’ during wedding dress fitting

Bride Heather was searching for her perfect dress

A bride-to-be’s mum pointed out her “back fat” as she tried on wedding dress for her special day.

Heather appeared on an episode of Say Yes To The Dress, which aired tonight, and was searching for a simple but elegant gown at bridal boutique, Ava Rose Hamilton.

She tried on a fitted £1,399 Stella York dress but it didn’t seem to be up her mum Sue’s street.

She told her daughter: “It’s too old fashioned for you. I love the little bit of sparkle, not too over the top, beautiful train.

“It’s just that back section is not doing it for me.”

Sue then told the camera: “I’m desperately trying not to… I could see back fat,” as Heather’s horrified sister Jess burst out laughing and exclaimed: “Mum!”

Sue asked: “Am I not allowed to say that?”

Meanwhile, Heather admitted to host Gok Wan: “I’m not overawed by it. I like the pattern and I like how much lace there is.

“I feel like it’s maybe making me look a bit old… It just doesn’t feel right for me.”

Heather revealed her fiancé Ned would love to see her in a Meghan Markle-style wedding dress.

She explained: “Ned has an idea of what he’d like to see me in,’ she told Gok. I think he’d like to see me in something slightly plainer and less fussy.”

But Sue joked: “Just because Heather looks a bit like Meghan, doesn’t mean she should wear her dress. It doesn’t matter what Ned thinks, it’s just not going to happen – not if I’m paying for it.”

Heather finally finds her perfect dress which is a stunning £2,835 floral lace gown by Enzoani.

She admitted: “I love the flowers and the detail. I love the top section. I love the V. I love the volume, the drama, the excitement. It’s just absolutely beautiful.”
