Hollyoaks viewers 'heartbroken' as Prince McQueen leaves but notice something odd about his exit

Prince arrived in 2016

Hollyoaks viewers have been left heartbroken as Prince McQueen left the soap - but many noticed something odd about his exit.

In Wednesday night's episode of Hollyoaks (August 7 2019), Prince had a chat with former love-rival Romeo Quinn and realised he needed to go out and explore the world.

Prince told his mum Goldie about his plans and at first she was not on board.

However, Romeo encouraged Prince to go travelling and after Prince told Peri, who he is dating, she also told him to do what he wants to do.

With Romeo and Peri's help, they managed to convince Goldie to let Prince go and follow his dreams.

Prince also revealed that he and his wife Lily, who recently passed away due to sepsis, had a check list of places they wanted to visit before they died.

Prince soon packed up his bags and left the village, saying goodbye to his family.

As he turned around he said: "I'll never forget you Lily."

Fans were heartbroken to see Prince leave.

However some viewers noticed something off about Prince's exit.

A couple of weeks ago, Romeo and Prince had got into a fight, destroying stock in Price Slice.

Walter demanded the two get jobs in order to pay him back. The pair worked at Price Slice for a while before going to work for children's holiday camp Tom's Turtles.

Prince soon quit and tried enjoying his summer, but Walter told him to come back to work at Price Slice. Prince then went back to Tom's Turtles earlier this week.

Viewers have asked exactly how Prince could afford to go travelling when he hasn't got any money AND still has a debt to pay off.

Malique, who plays Prince, posted a goodbye message to the soap on his Instagram.

The actor, who participated in the 2018 series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, shared a picture with Chelsee Healey, who plays Goldie McQueen and Theo Graham, who played Prince's twin brother, Hunter.

Malique captioned the post: "Don't worry though @chelseehealey is still gonna stay slayin in the village. Gonna miss you."

Chelsee commented under the post saying: "Miss you my boy."

Hollyoaks is on Monday to Friday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with a first look episode every night on E4.
