It’s been pretty obvious for a while now that Emmerdale‘s Dr Liam Cavanagh is not as perfect as he seems.
His girlfriend Bernice Blackstock has been concerned he’s hiding something and next week she’s set to find out what when she makes a sinister discovery in Liam’s bag…
Bernice’s sister, Nicola King, has been stirring the pot between the couple, insisting Liam is hiding something about the death of his ex-wife, Lara.

When Nicola and Bernice discovered a picture it became clear Lare bore a spooky resemblence to Bernice.
Liam was angry that Bernice took the picture and lashed out at her when she questioned why he never mentions Lara.
All viewers know is that Lara was Leanna’s mother and she died from anaphylactic shock caused by a nut allergy.
Liam’s reaction to Bernice’s questions was so odd, that some fans believed he’d killed her.
However, he later confessed that he blocked out the pain of Lara’s death by moving on to Maya very quickly so he didn’t have to face his grief.
While he might have thought he had appeased Bernice, she’s still suspicious – and Nicola’s still egging her on to get to the bottom of things.
Next week sees Bernice ‘accidentally’ spilling the contents of Liam’s bag in the pub.
As she goes through what’s inside, she’s stunned by what she finds…

It’s the wardrobe staple of criminals and robbers, not exactly a law-abiding doctor.
Later at Brook Cottage, a flustered Bernice knows she needs answers – and real ones this time – so she steels herself to confront her other half.
A stunned Liam looks at the offending item and prepares to respond, but what will his reasoning be?
