Coronation Street SPOILER: Gina accused of stealing

Is the finger of blame pointing at the right person?

Gina Seddon finds herself blamed for stealing a wad of cash next week… but while she might have made mistakes in the past, is she really guilty this time?

Coronation Street fans will know that Gina is still in sister Sally Metcalfe’s bad books after her actions in court saw her sent to prison for a crime she didn’t commit.

But while guilty Gina was the one who eventually got Sally released by convincing Duncan Radfield’s wife May to confess to their lies, it seems Sally isn’t going to forgive and forget that easily, and the sisters’ relationship is at rock bottom.

There is also the small fact that Gina tried it on with Sally’s husband Tim while she was in prison, which also hasn’t helped and has seen her outed by the family.

But with Sally back home and back at work, she is trying to get back to some sort of normality after her harrowing time in jail.

So when Sean Tully suggests that the factory girls all go out for a night on the town, Sally jumps at the chance to forget her problems.

But it doesn’t look like Gina will be invited, because Sally only agrees to go if her sister isn’t there.

Gina is stung by Sally’s words and decides that she needs to make a grand gesture to show her sibling just how sorry she is.

She tells Sophie that she is planning to throw Sally a welcome home party, hoping it will show her sister how much she means to her.

Gina starts a collection for the party and is thrilled when Carla makes a generous donation so that her staff can all let their hair down.

Thrilled with how well her plan is working out, Gina puts the cash into an envelope and through the door of number 13 for Sophie to find.

But trouble strikes when Kevin finds the money and thinks that it is a donation towards a holiday he is taking Jack on.

Convinced the cash is from Sophie, Kevin and Jack excitedly pack their bags and head off… oblivious to who the money was really for.

Of course no one believes Gina when she says she put the money through Sophie’s door and everyone accuses her of stealing the cash.

With the party cancelled, the factory workers are all angry with Gina and even Beth doesn’t believe her claims that she’s innocent and promptly tells Gina that she needs to find somewhere else to live.

Felling sorry for her aunty, Sophie reluctantly tells Gina she can stay with her until Kevin and Jack get home from their holiday.

But how long will it be before the truth about what happened to the money is revealed?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
