Coronation Street slammed for ‘terrible’ factory collapse blunders

Fans have hit out at the soap for making a series of mistakes

Coronation Street has been slammed by viewers over a series of mistakes in the factory collapse.

They have vowed to stop watching after claiming the show is the ‘worst it has ever been’ and posting a series of mistakes they spotted during the factory collapse storyline.

While many fans were left crying after Rana Habeeb died earlier this week, others said it was ‘over the top’ and littered with clangers that made no sense.

Writing on Digital Spy, one called out moments like Izzy leaving the factory without anyone noticing, and Rana screaming for help instead of simply phoning 999.

One said: “If we are to believe Izzy left the factory in quick time – how did she get out? I’m not buying the ‘side ramp’ as the side of the building was totally blocked by scaffolding.

“If by some miracle she got out why didn’t she see Rana, or hear the collapse?

“Why didn’t Rana ring for help instead of shouting?

“Carla would not have skipped her sisters wedding especially after the loss of their brother.”

The show was also criticised for forgetting about Izzy and Gary’s son Jack’s existence.

One noted: “Izzy planned to strike for days but no mention of Jake, who wasn’t with Gary (and who has no room for him to stay over for days even if he did).”

Others criticised the dramatic episodes but insisted the rot set in months ago.

One said: “It’s been going downhill for a while. Now it’s picking up speed.”

A second said: “It’s definitely not getting any better. Last night’s episodes were terrible.”

One even said they had stopped watching because of it: “I think it’s the end of the road for me. Last night was dire beyond belief.”

Another said: “Coronation Street has been steadily worsening for the past few months and while this ‘stunt’ was supposed to potentially be the show at its best it was very far from it.

“Eastenders is improving steadily and Emmerdale is gaining momentum.”
