Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new home is reportedly funded by Prince Charles.
The former senior royals have purchased their first home together.
And it is a sprawling mansion in Montecito, Santa Barbara.
Located just under 100 miles from Los Angeles, it is a hotspot for billionaires and A-list celebrities.
Where is Harry and Meghan’s new home?
A source told the Mail Online that Charles was keen to help Meghan and Harry secure a property.
The source said: “Charles had been keen to help out and put his hand in his own pocket to assist.
“He is devoted to both his sons and any time he can assist them he always will.”
According to the same news source, a trust purchased the home in June.
Harry, Meghan and Archie have reportedly been living here for the past six weeks.
The home was bought for $14.7 million (£11.2 million at current conversion rates).
Sitting on 5.4 acres, the home is over 14,500 square feet.
Featuring nine bedrooms and 16 bathrooms – it will have plenty of room for the family of three.
Grounds include a tennis court, swimming pool and children’s outdoor play area.
Why did Meghan and Harry leave Tyler Perry’s mansion?
The family had previously been living at Tyler Perry’s $18 million mansion as houseguests.
Harry reportedly wanted to buy his own place and didn’t like the style of Tyler’s abode.
A source told Page Six: “While it was a nice favour to them at a very difficult time, Tyler Perry’s house with 18 bedrooms isn’t Harry’s style.
“Yes, he grew up in royalty and the halls of Buckingham Palace, but he prefers more intimate homes with character.”
Why did Harry and Meghan step down as senior royals?
Harry and Meghan left their UK home of Frogmore Cottage for a new life abroad last year.
Temporarily returning for their final royal duties in March, they now say will permanently live in the US.
In a statement they said that they now wish to stand on their own two feet financially.
Their joint statement included: “We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.
“It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment.
“We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.
“This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.”
