Susanna Reid has defended her former Strictly Come Dancing partner Kevin Clifton amid rumours he’s dating Stacey Dooley.
During the the seventh series of the show, the Good Morning Britain presenter was partnered with Kevin and has remained good friends with him.
Shortly after competing, Susanna split from her husband and during today’s Loose Women, Susanna insisted her marriage didn’t end because of the so-called Strictly ‘curse’.

Speaking about the ‘curse’, Susanna said: “I call it the Strictly coincidence. Kevin and I got on like a house on fire and Strictly was not responsible for the break-up of my relationship.
“I’m still fantastic friends with my ex and I’m still really good friends with Kevin.”
Panellist Kaye Adams then asked Susanna: “Now it’s Stacey Dooley, who was his partner. How will Kevin feel about all these rumours because he is very much being identified as the guy who is always at the centre of the Strictly curse.”
Susanna replied: “Again, I would just say that’s a coincidence unfortunately.
“I think if you look at Strictly overall and everyone who has participated, the vast majority of people in relationships when they start Strictly end up in the same relationships.”
Kaye cut in: “But there is a few that have split up.”
Susanna replied: “But just like any workplace it’s normal. I met my ex through work.”
It comes after Stacey hit back at the rumours that a relationship developed with Kevin while she was still involved with her ex-boyfriend, Sam Tucknott.
Stacey branded the social media reaction to the rumoured romance “utter nonsense”.
The documentary-maker and Strictly winner took to Twitter to counter claims made about her private life, and wished her ex-boyfriend the best.

It’s been reported that Sam apparently uncovered a relationship developing between the Strictly partners, which allegedly progressed while Stacey was taking part in the arena tour for the dance show.

The 32-year-old BBC personality and Sam ended their five-year relationship earlier in 2019.
Sam added that he and Stacey had already agreed to split when he claims to have seen the text, reportedly sent to her phone.
According to Sam, Stacey confessed to falling for Kevin during their time on the show.
It’s been said she insisted to Sam that nothing happened between the Strictly 2018 winners until after her relationship with her ex had ended.
