Emmerdale star says fan favourite’s shock exit will leave a “massive void”

We all are, tbh

| Updated:

Emmerdale actress Isabel Hodgins, aka Victoria Barton, has revealed she is utterly devastated about her on-screen hubby Adam Thomas’ imminent departure from the ITV soap.

Adam announced back in June that he was to bow out of his role as Adam Barton after eight years playing Moira’s son and Aaron Dingle’s BFF.

His final scenes are set to air early in the New Year and Isabel has spoken out of her sadness that the cute couple will be no more.

Isabel told Digital Spy: “When you get put with someone in a couple, they become your ‘person’ at work and you just gravitate towards them.

“We are very close and we’ve established a really nice bond because we’ve worked together for quite a while now.

“There will be a massive void when he goes. I want him to do well and succeed, but I am devastated that he’s leaving.”

Although they’ve only recently reunited, Adam and Victoria’s marriage is set to come under more strain as Adam decides to report Ross Barton for mum Emma’s murder.

Isabel also said that her character is a bit worried that Adam might be the real murderer, but in her heart of hearts she believes he’s innocent.

She won’t have to wait too long to find out the truth though.

Emmerdale have confirmed that they will reveal the true killer on Thursday 14th December in a special double-bill of episodes which will feature flashbacks for each of the seven suspects.

Along with Ross and Adam, Pete Barton, Gabby Thomas, Laurel Thomas, Moira Barton and Cain Dingle are all in the frame for pushing unhinged nurse Emma off the viaduct.

Emma had already killed her husband, James, and then accidentally shot her own son, Finn, killing him too.

The mystery of who killed her has been running since October when her body was found at the bottom of the viaduct.

Ross is currently looking the most guilty as he was seen fleeing the scene shortly after Emma fell to her death.

But, knowing soap as we do, that’s probably far too obvious.

We’re still expecting a GIANT twist.
