Spice Girls concert chaos due to ‘overcrowding’ and ‘bad organisation’

Fans weren't happy at the Coventry gig

Fans were left fuming at a Spice Girls concert this week, after they had to wait around due to overcrowding.

Many took to social media to complain about the lack of organisation at the gig in Coventry on Monday night.

The event at Ricoh arena had bad crowd management and terrible parking arrangements, according to concert-goers.

Many fans who had been excited to see Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C and Geri Horner were deflated when they had to spend hours waiting to leave in the arena car park due to the large crowds.

Others complained that security was poor and it was difficult to get in.

One fan tweeted: “Bag checks were stopped. Security throwing people out for no reason. People with tickets not allowed in as standing pitch full. Now 1H15 to get out carpark and I’ve moved 6 inches (sic).”

Another added: “Great show when you got in. It was like the crowds arriving was a surprise. Stewards outside looked lost with no direction. Gates opened to let crowds in at end of @JessGlynne. Doesn’t look good for anyone. Doubt many tourists will be back! @RicohArena.”

A third person ranted: “@RicohArena after paying £25 for parking, sitting still over an hour to get out is ridiculous!”

A fourth fan wrote: “We got there 45 mins before @JessGlynne and the queues were just ridiculous. No security no crowd management NOTHING! I recommend either getting there super early or around 6/7pm when Jess has finished.”

Ent Daily has contacted Ricoh arena for comment.

However, others voiced how much they enjoyed the concert last night.

It’s not the first time fans have complained at a Spice Girls gig since the tour began.

Last month, disgruntled fans at the band’s Dublin concert said there were sound problems during the set.
