Furious Spice Girls fans ‘demand refunds’ after second concert

Spice World night two hit by more sound problems

Some Spice Girls fans have demanded a refund after the second show in their Spice World stadium tour was hit by sound problems.

It came after Ent Daily reported that their first show at Dublin’s Croke Park last week got off to a not so great start.

Guests took to social media to say they were “weeping,” while “loads” of concert goers left early because they could only hear “a mumble up the back”.

Last night, Baby, Sporty, Scary and Ginger took to the stage at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. But while some said the girls’ set was “magical,” others were less than impressed with the wet weather and “terrible” sound.

While one fan admitted to being “very disappointed” with the show, others called for the girls to give fans their money back.

“Absolutely shocking!!” one raged on Twitter. “Sound awful should get a refund! Should of listened to their reviews from Ireland.”

Another added: “Left the Cardiff gig early. Really disappointed as couldn’t hear a word. Was really looking forward to it but left feeling it was a bit lame.”

A third revealed: “Okay so @spicegirls was so much fun however the sound was atrocious and you could not hear what they actually said! So disappointing when you pay soo much for a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

After fans blamed sound engineers for last week’s poor show, they didn’t escape unscathed this time either. One fan said: “Surely the whole idea of a soundcheck is to check the sound??”

“I’ve had better sound out of an old flip flop,” another said, while others called the show “a waste of £77”.

Stealing the lyrics from their hit Wannabe, another said: “The Spice Girls at their 2019 UK tour: so tell me what you want, what you really want… The fans: I wanna, I wanna, I wanna really really really wanna [expletive] refund.”

Others wondered why the band didn’t close the stadium’s retractable roof, given that it was pouring with rain.

“Hello @spicegirls @principalitysta do you know you have a retractable roof yes? Please use it next time it’s pouring down. Kind regards, soaking wet, frizzy haired, freezing fan xoxo.”

Other fans loved the performance, with one writing on Twitter: “Spice girls you were amazing! Cant beat rolling back the years with your girls.”

Another said: “What an amazing night… #spicegirls2019 lived my teenage years all over again!” while a third added: “Spice girls were amazing last night!! Front row couldn’t have asked for a better night loved it.”

The second night of sound problems came as Mel B was the only band member to address the issues that hit the opening night of the tour.

As Ent Daily reported, she took to to Instagram Stories the following morning and pledged to fix the issues before the Cardiff show.

Saying she hoped the sound in Cardiff “will be much better”, Mel said: “We will see you in Cardiff. And hopefully the vocals and the sound will be much, much better, pfft.”

We guess the ladies will be hoping it’ll be third time lucky when they perform at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
