Self-confessed ‘lazy slummy-mummy’ only bathes kids three days a week

And they eat with their hands!

Self-confessed “lazy, slummy-mummy” Constance Hall has risked derision by admitting she only baths her five kids a few times a week, and that she lets them eat with their hands.

The Australian social media personality, whose Instagram page about her bohemian style of parenting has 410,000 followers, often divides people with her posts – and this week is no exception.

Constance, who has five children of her own and two step-children with her second husband Denim Cooke, admitted that she has to “cut corners” with six children living in the house and that means less baths and no washing up of cutlery!

Sharing her secrets to Mamamia, Perth-based Constance explained she often lets her children eat with their hands as “dishes are the worst part” of dinner.

She said: “Feast with your hands…  I often put [out] a huge pile of vegetables along with another plate of sliced meat or whatever you’re making.”

Constance, who took part in the Aussie version of Dancing With The Stars, also revealed she doesn’t wash the kids every day, explaining skipping a bath “won’t kill them”.

She explained: “They don’t have to bath or shower every day. They can quite often skip that part of the routine if it’s getting everyone down.

“I’m like, ‘fine, stinky, go to school and gross everyone out’.”

Talking about the article on her Facebook page, Constance wrote: “I share my big family short cuts in this article.

“Call me lazy, call me a slummy mummy, but when you have six kids living under your roof things change. You’re kidding yourself if you think that you can give six kids the same life you gave one.”

Constance’s fans agreed with her, with one replying: “I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! I have one child, but I also have chronic illnesses and zero help besides my husband.

“I can’t keep on top of the laundry. I can’t bathe my kid every day. I can’t continue to fight to get her to eat her veggies. I’m tired and hurting 100% of the time 24/7.

“Is my kid happy and healthy and loved and a good person? YES! That’s what really matters.”

Another said: “THIS IS TRUTH. I don’t have one child, let alone six, and I take my hat off to all the parents who have kids.

“Life wasn’t meant to be regimented.”

A third said: “I had six kids. Friday night was always sugar cereal for dinner night. They loved it because Weetabix was the standard brekkie at ours. They got to choose their own sugar-filled cereal and it was cheaper than takeaway.”

Constance is mum to Billie-Violet, born 2010, Arlo Love, born 2012, twins Rumi and Snow, born 2015, and Raja Wolf, born last year.
