Pregnant Gemma Atkinson has said she can’t wait for her unborn baby to bond with her beloved dogs in a sweet Instagram post.
The 34-year-old actress shared a throwback picture from her childhood, which showed her cuddled up in bed with her family pooch.
The former Emmerdale actress reminisced about her fondness for terrier Fergie and revealed she can’t wait for her child to experience the same with her two dogs, Norman and Ollie.
Gem also joked that she prefers her furry friends to people!
She captioned the old picture: “#tb Sleeping with my best friend back then, our first dog Fergie. We were inseparable. I’ve genuinely all my life preferred dogs to people 😂 Loyal, loving, fun, humble, happy are just a few of their traits…”
She continued: “Seeing this makes me excited for baby Marquez to meet Norman and Ollie and see the bond they will have. Just like me and Fergie had for 15 wonderful years 🐶👶🐶❤️.”

Gemma, who is dating Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka Marquez, was inundated with comments from fans after posting her nostalgic photo.
One of her followers commented: “Love this and your excitement at your fur babies meeting baby Marquez 😍.”

A third added: “This is so cute.”

Gemma revealed her plans for maternity leave earlier this week.
The star is due in just under two months and it will be her first child with 29-year-old Strictly dancer Gorka.
