This Morning’s Phillip Schofield reveals what he’s doing on day off

He was replaced by John Barrowman on Monday's show

Phillip Schofield has revealed how he spent his day off from This Morning on Monday.

The beloved presenter took a break from presenting duties while his co-star Holly Willoughby hosted today’s show with I’m A Celebrity star and comedian John Barrowman.

And it seems Phil, 56, made the most of his day off as he enjoyed a delicious-looking lunch.

Sharing a snap of a huge burger to Snapchat on Monday, Phil joked to his fans: “Light lunch… there are smaller holiday homes!”

Meanwhile, Holly and John co-hosted today’s edition of the daytime show and the duo’s chemistry left some viewers calling for him to replace Phil permanently!

His enthusiasm and constant shouting of his famous catchphrase “fabulous” won over fans watching the show from home.

One person said on Twitter: “Can we just please have John Barrowman as a permanent replacement for Phillip Schofield on ThisMorning?”

Another added: “Sorry Phil, I think Holly has got another TV husband.”

“I think Holly and John are FAB U LOUS together! Sorry Phil but you need to move over,” said another.

It was confirmed last week that John would be filling in for Phil so he could take a day off.

In a statement, John said: “I am delighted to co-host This Morning, it’s such an iconic show and to be reunited with Holly – a familiar face from my jungle family – is just fabulous. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Even though John proved to be a massive hit, fans can look forward to having Phil back on the sofa tomorrow (Tuesday January 22).

Meanwhile, at the weekend, the daytime show aired its first ever Sunday show hosted by Eamonn Holmes and his wife Ruth Langsford.

The new weekend programme aired for one hour and featuret segment highlights from the previous week.

The first episode included another chance to see an interview with Chris Hughes and his brother Ben about his testicular cancer diagnosis, as well as a re-airing of an interview with Strictly Come Dancing star Kevin Clifton.

However, viewers watching from home were left divided over the episode with many complaining about “repeat” segments.

One person said: “I was looking forward to #ThisMorning on Sunday but so far disappointing, just flashbacks of interviews we’ve already seen with Philip and Holly.”

Another wrote: “#thismorning why are they just repeating what’s already been on this week. This is really disappointing turning back to #sundaybrunch.”
